The Role: Creative Collaboration on Meaningful Projects
IFIT is looking for a freelance designer who can support a variety of upcoming assignments, each focused on strengthening the organization’s communication efforts. While the work is fully remote and assignment-based, the impact is substantial. Designers will collaborate with IFIT’s communications team to bring clarity, coherence, and creativity to their outputs.
Typical assignments may include:
- Publication and report design (digital and print), including layouts, infographics, and visual storytelling
- Branding and visual identity development, such as logos, style guidelines, and graphic systems
- Design for digital communication, especially social media campaigns, web visuals, and promotional assets
- Transforming complex content into clear, accessible graphics for policy audiences, practitioners, and the wider public

What IFIT Is Looking For
The ideal designer will bring a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of visual hierarchy, and an understanding of how thoughtful design can elevate policy and research work. Previous experience supporting NGOs, think tanks, advocacy groups, or research institutions is particularly valued, as it often involves balancing clarity, professionalism, and creative communication.
Desired qualifications include:
- Proven experience in graphic design and publication layout
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
- Strong understanding of both print and digital design standards
- Excellent typographic skills and attention to layout precision
- Ability to turn technical policy or research content into visuals that are clear, engaging, and accessible
- Strong communication skills in English (Spanish or Arabic is a plus)
- Capacity to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver high-quality work efficiently
