The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) is seeking a Global Human Resources Partner to support its growing international workforce and strengthen human resources operations across multiple countries.

This full-time remote position is designed for an experienced HR professional who can provide strategic support, employee guidance, recruitment expertise, and operational leadership within a globally distributed nonprofit organization.

The role is based in Nairobi, Kenya (Remote), with preference given to candidates located in Kenya. Applicants from other African time zones may also be considered, with flexibility required to support collaboration across global teams.

The Global Human Resources Partner will play an important role in ensuring that the organization’s culture, policies, and people practices support its international mission.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the HR Director, the Global HR Partner will manage a broad range of human resources responsibilities, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training, and policy communication.

Key duties include:

  • Serving as the main HR contact for Employer of Record (EOR) matters.
  • Acting as a liaison between IEEFA and external employment partners.
  • Advising employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Supporting conflict resolution and escalating complex matters when necessary.
  • Partnering with the HR Director to implement HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Analyzing workforce trends and HR metrics to support decision-making.
  • Leading complex recruitment processes and improving candidate experiences.
  • Preparing employment contracts and formal HR communications.
  • Facilitating employee orientation and training programmes.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, helping managers and employees navigate workplace matters while promoting an inclusive and engaged global workforce.

  • At least two years of experience supporting organizational leaders and employees.
  • Experience working with remote or internationally distributed teams.
  • Commitment to IEEFA’s mission and values.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience working in an NGO or nonprofit organization.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence tools for HR analytics.
  • Professional certification such as HRCI, SHRM, or an equivalent qualification.

Remote Position With Competitive Compensation

The Global HR Partner position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from:

USD $78,924 – $95,244 annually
(or local equivalent based on currency and cost-of-living adjustments).
