About the Chief Strategy & Scale Officer Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Strategy & Scale Officer (CSSO) will play a critical role in shaping IDinsight’s future. As a member of the Global Executive Team, the successful candidate will oversee the organization’s strategic planning, growth initiatives, board engagement, and external partnerships.

This is not just another executive role—it is a leadership position responsible for defining how IDinsight grows, expands its influence, and strengthens its position within the global development sector. The CSSO will ensure that organizational strategies are translated into measurable results while supporting innovation and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide leadership in several important areas, including:

• Developing and overseeing the organization’s long-term strategic plans.
• Leading annual planning processes and monitoring organizational performance.
• Working closely with the Board of Directors and executive leadership.
• Driving large-scale growth initiatives and identifying new opportunities for expansion.
• Building strategic partnerships with governments, donors, and international organizations.
• Supporting the integration of artificial intelligence and innovative technologies into development programmes.
• Representing IDinsight at international conferences, publications, and thought leadership events.

Who Should Apply?

IDinsight is looking for an accomplished executive with at least 12 to 15 years of professional experience leading organizations or major programmes within international development.

Ideal candidates should have:

• Proven experience leading organizational growth.
• Strong fundraising experience with major international donors.
• Excellent strategic planning and executive leadership skills.
• Experience working with boards and senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication and thought leadership abilities.
• Experience operating in low- and middle-income countries.
• A commitment to evidence-based decision-making and social impact.

Experience in mergers and acquisitions, AI implementation, evaluation, or data science will be considered an added advantage.

Location and Work Arrangement

The position is based in one of IDinsight’s regional offices located in:

• Dakar, Senegal
• Delhi, India
• Lusaka, Zambia
• Manila, Philippines
• Nairobi, Kenya
• Rabat, Morocco

This role is not remote, and successful applicants will be expected to relocate if they are not already based in one of these countries. IDinsight can sponsor employment visas for exceptional international candidates, although preference will be given to applicants who already have work authorization.
