About the Events Project Manager Role

HRFN is seeking an experienced and highly organized Events Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of major global events, including the organization’s flagship Funding Futures Festival.

This temporary full-time role is expected to begin in 2026 and continue through June 2027, with the possibility of extension depending on organizational needs and funding availability.

The successful candidate will serve as a central coordination point between HRFN staff, event planning consultants, vendors, partners, speakers, and participants to ensure seamless event delivery.

Managing the Funding Futures Festival

A major responsibility of this position is leading the coordination of the HRFN Festival, a four-day international gathering expected to attract approximately 350 participants from more than 40 countries.

The event includes:

  • Plenary sessions
  • Concurrent workshops
  • Leadership retreats
  • Site visits
  • Cultural programming
  • Networking activities
  • Partner-led events

The Festival will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, and requires significant coordination across multiple venues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The Events Project Manager will oversee all aspects of event logistics and project management.

Core responsibilities include:

Event Planning and Coordination

  • Managing event timelines and project plans.
  • Coordinating with vendors, consultants, and partners.

Registration and Participant Support

Supporting Additional HRFN Events
