About the Nature Positive Initiative
The Nature Positive Initiative works to help address the global loss of biodiversity and ecosystems. Its goal is to foster alignment and collaboration among organisations working toward a nature-positive future and the objective of halting and reversing nature loss by 2030.
The initiative brings together major environmental organisations, sustainable business platforms, research institutions, standards organisations, Indigenous knowledge representatives, and local government agencies.
The successful candidate will therefore work in an international environment involving a diverse network of organisations and stakeholders.
What Does the Senior Executive Assistant Role Involve?
This is considerably more than a traditional administrative position. The Senior Executive Assistant will provide sophisticated executive support to the Executive Chair while serving as an important coordination point between the Executive Chair, Executive Director, NPI team, partners, and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be expected to anticipate priorities, manage competing demands, exercise sound judgement, and ensure that the Executive Chair is properly prepared for meetings and engagements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the Executive Chair’s calendar and forward planning.
- Coordinating meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Preparing agendas and meeting documentation.
- Arranging travel and accommodation.
- Preparing briefing materials for meetings and events.
- Processing travel and expense-related expenditure.
- Screening enquiries, emails, and correspondence.
- Coordinating with NPI team members to support executive priorities.
- Managing relationships with vendors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Maintaining sophisticated electronic filing systems.
- Managing relevant mailing lists and CRM information.
- Supporting major NPI events, conferences, and meetings.
This requires a professional who can work independently while maintaining close communication with senior leadership.
HR Coordination Responsibilities
An important feature of this opportunity is its human resources coordination component.
The Senior Executive Assistant will support the NPI Secretariat’s HR activities in collaboration with the Executive Chair, Executive Director, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA), and relevant Safeguard teams.
Responsibilities include coordinating annual performance appraisal processes and supporting Cost of Living Adjustments in collaboration with RPA.
The successful candidate will also manage consultancy staff contracts, including drafting, administration, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with contractual and organisational requirements.
This combination of executive assistance and HR coordination makes the role particularly suitable for professionals with broad administrative and people-management experience.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Applicants should have a secretarial or administration diploma from a commercial college or another relevant qualification.
The position requires substantial senior-level experience, with candidates expected to have approximately 8–10 years of experience supporting C-level executives.
This requirement means the organisation is looking for an experienced professional who understands the demands of executive-level support and can operate confidently in a complex international environment.

- Diplomatic and negotiation skills.
- High integrity and discretion.

- Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Team-oriented working style.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
Excellent computer skills are also required, including expertise in Microsoft Office and familiarity with collaborative platforms such as Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
English and French Language Skills
Language ability is an important requirement for the position.
Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
This bilingual requirement reflects the international nature of the organisation and the need to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different locations and professional environments.
Remote Working Opportunity
The position is fully remote, providing flexibility for qualified professionals who can work from their country of residence.
However, applicants must have a valid work permit for their country of residence. The organisation indicates that candidates based in Europe are preferred.
