Role Overview

The Fact-checker/Researcher will play a central role in maintaining the publication’s editorial integrity and accuracy standards. Working closely with editors, writers, and podcast teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for verifying facts, assessing sources, supporting investigations, and contributing research across both written and multimedia content.

The position is designed for individuals with strong attention to detail, sound editorial judgement, and a deep interest in Southasian politics, culture, and journalism.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves a broad range of editorial and investigative tasks aimed at strengthening the quality and reliability of published work.

Core Duties Include:

  • Fact-checking all editorial material across text and multimedia platforms
  • Verifying information during editing and pre-publication processes
  • Vetting sources for reliability, misinformation, and bias
  • Identifying contested or contradictory information for editorial review
  • Conducting background research for articles, newsletters, and podcasts
  • Supporting the production and editing of regular podcast content
  • Assisting editorial workflows with additional research and verification tasks
  • Undertaking long-term and investigative research assignments
