Golden State Opportunity (GSO) is seeking a dedicated Grants Manager to join its mission-driven team. This remote, full-time position is open to candidates residing in California. Job Summary

The Grants Manager reports directly to the President of GSO and plays a critical role in securing and managing funding to support the organization’s programs. This position requires strategic thinking, excellent writing, and relationship-building skills to expand and diversify GSO’s grant portfolio.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Researching, identifying, and pursuing new grant opportunities while maintaining existing funding streams.
• Writing and submitting grant applications, including narratives, budgets, and supporting materials.
• Managing all grant reporting, ensuring compliance with deadlines and funder requirements.
• Building and nurturing relationships with foundations and corporate funders.
• Developing a multi-year strategy for sustainable grant funding.
• Collaborating with program staff to gather data and success stories for compelling grant narratives.
• Preparing updates and presentations for organizational leadership on grants progress and opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

GSO is seeking candidates with a strong background in grants management and nonprofit fundraising. The ideal candidate will have:

• At least three years of grant writing experience.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal abilities.
• Strategic thinking with attention to both short-term and long-term goals.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Residency in California.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

Candidates with experience or interest in the anti-poverty sector will have an advantage. Preferred qualifications include:

• Demonstrated success in fundraising.
• Experience with data analysis and budgeting.
• Familiarity with nonprofit operations and grant compliance.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and CRM systems such as Salesforce.
• Curiosity, initiative, and adaptability to changing political and cultural conditions.

Compensation and Benefits

The Grants Manager position offers a competitive salary range of $82,000–$92,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:
