The WePlanet is recruiting a Grants Officer for a fully remote global position supporting science-based environmental advocacy and climate action initiatives. WePlanet is entering a major phase of international growth and is seeking a skilled Grants Officer to strengthen its fundraising infrastructure and expand partnerships with trusts, foundations, and institutional funders. The role will work closely with the Director of Impact & Partnerships, the Head of Philanthropy & Foundations, and programme teams to manage grant portfolios, develop compelling proposals, and improve fundraising systems.

Position Responsibilities
The Grants Officer will:
- Manage grant portfolios from foundations and institutional funders
- Draft grant proposals, progress reports, and funding applications
- Maintain reporting schedules, compliance tracking, and renewal timelines
- Conduct donor and funding opportunity research
- Support stewardship of major donor relationships
- Build and improve grant management systems and CRM records
- Assist with fundraising strategy and operational processes
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver timely reporting and submissions
- Support high-net-worth donor cultivation initiatives
The role requires strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced international environment.
Qualifications and Skills
WePlanet is seeking candidates with:
- At least two years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or proposal development
- Experience working with US, UK, or European foundations
- Excellent written English and storytelling skills
- Ability to translate technical environmental topics into compelling donor narratives
- Experience with budgets, reporting, and project management
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Teams, and ideally Power BI
- Ability to work independently within a remote international team
- Alignment with evidence-based climate and sustainability solutions
Experience within environmental, climate, or international development organizations is considered an advantage.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for Belgium-based candidates is EUR 37,760 – 44,840 annually, with location-adjusted compensation for international hires based on internal salary frameworks.
