Go Vocal Is Hiring an Account Executive (NorthAm) – Remote, Home-Based|Earn up to $130k

Go Vocal, a global govtech scale-up operated by CitizenLab, is looking for a purpose-driven Account Executive (NorthAm) to help expand its client base across the United States and Canada. The remote opportunity is focused on strengthening democracy through public-sector innovation and is suited to professionals with strong communication, sales, business development, or public-sector experience.
About the Role
The Account Executive will play an important role in Go Vocal’s expansion across North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for winning new local government clients while helping the company build stronger relationships and establish its presence across the region.
The position is particularly suited to someone who understands public-sector challenges and can approach government organizations as a trusted partner rather than simply as a vendor.
The role involves managing the full sales cycle, from identifying potential clients and conducting outreach to delivering product demonstrations and closing deals.
Key Responsibilities
The Account Executive will be responsible for several important growth activities, including:
- Developing an understanding of local government challenges and building relationships with potential clients.
- Managing the complete sales process from lead generation through to closing.
- Sourcing new leads through outbound outreach, referrals, and public-sector events.
- Working closely with the North American Sales and Government Success teams.
- Sharing market insights with global Marketing and Product teams.
- Supporting tender processes in collaboration with the Operations team.
- Helping Go Vocal expand its presence among local governments in the United States and Canada.
The role therefore combines business development, consultative engagement, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration.
What Go Vocal Is Looking For
Candidates should have approximately 2–3 years of experience or an affinity with the public sector. Previous sales experience is considered an advantage, but the organization emphasizes motivation and drive rather than requiring candidates to meet every qualification.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong “hunter’s mindset”, meaning they are proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
Other qualities highlighted for the role include:
- Strong communication skills.
- The ability to build trust quickly.
- A consultative approach to sales.
- Strong organization and structured working habits.
- Comfort with longer sales cycles.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Motivation to contribute to a mission-driven organization.
Candidates are expected to be based in the United States, specifically within the Eastern or Central time zones.
Salary and Benefits
Go Vocal is offering a competitive compensation package with an advertised $100,000–$130,000 OTE, based on a 50/50 base-variable split.
The company also highlights several benefits associated with the position, including:
- Fully remote work flexibility.
- Healthcare benefits.
- An annual global team retreat.
- A training budget.
- The opportunity to work within an international team.
According to the vacancy information, the organization has a team of approximately 50 people working across more than 20 countries, giving the successful candidate an opportunity to participate in an international growth environment.
A Mission-Driven Opportunity
Beyond sales targets, the position is connected to Go Vocal’s wider mission of supporting democracy and public-sector innovation.
The company works with governments and public-sector organizations, making the role particularly interesting for candidates who want to combine commercial growth with social impact.
The successful Account Executive will help local governments adopt solutions designed to improve public engagement and strengthen connections between governments and the communities they serve.
Diversity and Inclusion
Go Vocal states that it is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. The company highlights its cultural diversity and gender parity while acknowledging that it wants to improve racial diversity within its team.
People from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are encouraged to apply.
Who Should Consider Applying?
This opportunity could appeal to professionals with backgrounds in sales, business development, public-sector engagement, government relations, account management, or consultative client engagement.
It may also be attractive to someone with strong public-sector knowledge who has less traditional sales experience but can demonstrate initiative, communication skills, relationship-building ability, and a strong desire to grow a market.
However, the location requirement is important: candidates are expected to be based in the US Eastern or Central time zones.
How to Apply
The vacancy is listed as a remote, home-based Account Executive position for North America. The recruiting organization has not specified a closing date, so interested candidates should verify that the position remains available before submitting an application.
For professionals interested in govtech, public-sector innovation, sales, and social impact, this role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to Go Vocal’s expansion while working remotely within an international team.
