Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join its Global Procurement Unit as a Global Direct Category Buyer – Biomedical Equipment. About the Global Direct Category Buyer Role

The Global Direct Category Buyer will lead procurement strategies for biomedical equipment while ensuring purchasing decisions align with MSF’s operational priorities and global procurement objectives.

Working within the Global Procurement Unit, the successful candidate will collaborate with quality assurance teams, supply centres, regional hubs, legal departments, procurement specialists, and humanitarian partners to optimize procurement activities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee strategic procurement activities and supplier management across assigned biomedical equipment categories.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Conducting supplier market analysis

Supplier Relationship Management

Qualifications and Experience

MSF is seeking candidates with significant procurement and sourcing experience.

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of procurement or supply chain experience
  • Minimum two years of strategic procurement and vendor management experience
  • Experience sourcing biomedical equipment
  • Experience in global contracting and supplier negotiations
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Experience working within one of MSF’s European Supply Centres, project management expertise, and proficiency in French are considered valuable advantages.
