About the Role

The Grants Manager plays a central role in ensuring that Global Greengrants Fund’s grantmaking processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational values. The position sits within the Grants Management Team and reports to the Director of Grants Management and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Grants Manager will lead and support several core functions across the organization:

Grants Management and Compliance

• Ensure all grants are processed in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain compliance with US IRS regulations and UK Charity Commission and HMRC guidelines.
• Strengthen internal policies and procedures for global grantmaking operations.

Systems Oversight and Optimization

• Serve as a lead administrator for grant management systems, including SmartSimple.
• Ensure data integrity, system accuracy, and effective use of grantmaking tools.
• Improve system workflows to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.

Team Support and Collaboration

• Provide guidance and troubleshooting support to Grants Associates.
• Identify recurring challenges and develop system-wide solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Programs, and Fundraising.

Strategy and Process Improvement

• Contribute to the development of grants management strategy.
• Support organizational learning and adaptation in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Lead initiatives that improve transparency, accountability, and operational effectiveness.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in grants management within a nonprofit, development, or social justice context. They will have a strong understanding of international compliance frameworks and experience working with complex, multi-country funding systems.
