Support Survivor Leadership at a Landmark Global Conference on Ending Violence Against Children

Are you passionate about survivor leadership, trauma-informed practice, and global advocacy? Together for Girls and the Brave Movement are seeking a Global Survivor Council Coordinator Consultant to support survivor engagement and participation in the 2026 Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children.

This unique consultancy offers an opportunity to ensure survivor voices remain at the center of one of the world’s most significant child protection and violence prevention gatherings.

About the Initiative

The 2026 Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children will take place in Manila, Philippines, bringing together ministers, policymakers, advocates, and organizations committed to ending violence against children worldwide.

As part of this effort, Together for Girls and the Brave Movement will support a diverse survivor delegation composed of leaders with lived experience of:

• Sexual violence
• Human trafficking
• Online abuse and bullying
• Child exploitation
• Other forms of violence against children

The Global Survivor Council Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring these survivor leaders participate safely, meaningfully, and effectively throughout the conference process.

About the Role

The consultant will focus exclusively on survivor engagement, preparation, wellbeing, and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with the Deputy Director for Campaigns & Advocacy, the successful candidate will oversee the formation and coordination of the Global Survivor Council while supporting survivors before, during, and after the conference.

Key Responsibilities

Survivor Council Formation and Coordination

The consultant will:

• Recruit and establish the Global Survivor Council.
• Facilitate regular meetings and engagement sessions.
• Manage survivor participation throughout the project.
• Support the transition from working group to conference delegation.

Survivor Preparation and Capacity Building

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and facilitating preparation sessions.
• Providing conference orientation and advocacy training.
• Coordinating survivor input into policy and advocacy materials.
• Preparing delegates for panels, meetings, and media engagements.
• Supporting survivors to engage confidently and effectively.

Trauma-Informed Practice and Safeguarding

A central aspect of the role involves:

• Embedding trauma-informed approaches throughout the project.
• Developing safeguarding strategies and protocols.
• Ensuring informed consent at every stage of participation.
• Supporting survivor wellbeing and welfare.
• Creating safe and inclusive engagement spaces.

Conference Week Coordination

During the Ministerial Conference, the consultant will:

• Serve as the primary contact for survivor delegates.
• Coordinate speaking opportunities and schedules.
• Facilitate survivor-only gatherings and safe spaces.
• Support participation in advocacy and policy meetings.
• Monitor wellbeing and connect survivors to support services.

Media and Advocacy Support

The coordinator will also:

• Prepare survivors for media opportunities.
• Support ethical storytelling practices.
• Help survivors establish personal boundaries.
• Ensure survivor voices remain authentic and protected.

Who Should Apply?

Together for Girls and the Brave Movement are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in survivor engagement and trauma-informed practice.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate:

• More than five years of experience in survivor engagement or delegation coordination.
• Extensive experience working with survivors of violence and trauma.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed methodologies.
• Experience facilitating inclusive and safe group processes.
• Proven ability to coordinate international delegations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience developing safeguarding frameworks.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional advantages include:

• Knowledge of international advocacy and policy processes.
• Experience supporting high-level conferences and events.
• Additional language skills such as:
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Filipino/Tagalog
  • Other relevant languages

Time Commitment: 3 Days Per Week

Compensation: Consultant Day Rate (Applicants to Propose Budget in Euros)
