Global Survivor Council Coordinator (Remote) – Together for Girls | Apply by 23 June 2026
Together for Girls (TfG), in partnership with Brave Movement, is inviting applications for a remote Global Survivor Council Coordinator Consultant position. This unique consultancy offers experienced professionals the opportunity to support survivor leadership and meaningful participation in one of the world’s most significant child protection events—the Second Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children (VAC Ministerial), scheduled to take place in Manila, Philippines, in November 2026.
The consultancy is expected to begin on 1 July 2026, subject to donor funding confirmation, and will run through 5 December 2026 on a three-day-per-week basis. Applications close on 23 June 2026.
Supporting Survivor Leadership on a Global Stage
The VAC Ministerial Conference represents a major international effort to address violence against children through collaboration among governments, international organizations, policymakers, and advocates. Organized by the Government of the Philippines in partnership with UNICEF, WHO, and other global stakeholders, the conference seeks to amplify survivor voices and ensure their experiences shape global child protection policies.
Together for Girls and Brave Movement will support a diverse delegation of up to 21 participants, including survivor leaders from different regions and backgrounds. The delegation will include individuals with lived experience of sexual violence, trafficking, online abuse, and other forms of violence affecting children.
The Global Survivor Council Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring survivor representatives are safely prepared, meaningfully engaged, and fully supported throughout the conference process.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant will establish and facilitate a Global Survivor Council, bringing together survivor leaders from Brave Movement and other survivor networks worldwide. This includes recruiting council members, organizing regular meetings, maintaining engagement, and preparing participants for conference involvement.
A major component of the role involves designing and delivering survivor preparation programs. These programs will equip participants with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to engage in advocacy discussions, panel sessions, bilateral meetings, and media opportunities.
The consultant will also coordinate survivor input into advocacy materials, ensuring that survivor perspectives are genuinely integrated into policy discussions rather than included as a symbolic gesture.
Trauma-Informed and Survivor-Centered Approach
A core expectation of the role is the application of trauma-informed principles across all activities. The successful candidate will help create a safe and supportive environment where survivors can participate meaningfully while maintaining their well-being.
Responsibilities include developing safeguarding measures, ensuring informed consent, coordinating psychological support services, and serving as a welfare contact for survivor delegates before, during, and after the conference.
The consultant will work closely with event organizers and safeguarding specialists to ensure that accommodation arrangements, meeting spaces, transportation, and conference activities reflect survivor welfare needs.
Conference Coordination and Media Support
During conference week in Manila, the Global Survivor Council Coordinator will serve as the primary support person for survivor delegates. This includes managing schedules, facilitating survivor-only gatherings, coordinating speaker preparation, and supporting participants through advocacy engagements.
The consultant will also help survivors navigate media opportunities. Working alongside communications teams, they will ensure delegates understand their rights, establish personal boundaries, and feel empowered to share their stories on their own terms.
This support is especially important in high-profile international events where survivor narratives can influence policy discussions and inspire action worldwide.
Qualifications and Experience
Together for Girls is seeking candidates with more than five years of experience in survivor engagement, delegation coordination, trauma-informed practice, or related fields.
Applicants should demonstrate strong facilitation skills, experience working directly with survivors of violence or trauma, and the ability to manage complex international engagements involving diverse participants.
Knowledge of safeguarding frameworks is highly desirable. Fluency in English is required, while additional languages such as Spanish, French, Filipino/Tagalog, or others are considered an advantage.
The selected consultant must also be willing and able to travel to the Philippines in November 2026 to support conference activities on-site.
