Relief International is recruiting a Global Awards & Donor Compliance Manager (GADCM) to join its Awards Management Unit (AMU) Global team. This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates based in Relief International countries of operation.

Role Overview
The Global Awards & Donor Compliance Manager is a senior-level position responsible for ensuring effective awards management and donor compliance across global programs.
Reporting to the Global Award Management Director, the role provides day-to-day technical oversight to desk offices, leads strategic initiatives, and strengthens internal systems to ensure compliance, accountability, and risk mitigation.
The position plays a central role in donor compliance, award lifecycle management, audit readiness, and capacity building across country offices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead End-to-End Awards Management
- Oversee award negotiation, agreement review, and start-up processes
- Establish and monitor compliance frameworks
- Ensure effective award closeout procedures
- Mitigate risk and ensure strategic alignment across country and support offices
2. Provide Technical Authority on Compliance & Risk
- Serve as a decision-maker in Go/No-Go reviews and portfolio assessments
- Provide guidance on audit readiness and compliance risks
- Oversee equipment disposition and award closeout requirements
- Strengthen internal controls and risk mitigation processes
3. Drive Donor & Partner Compliance Standards
- Guide Country Offices and partners on donor regulations
- Oversee due diligence processes and sub-award management
- Maintain updated donor compliance frameworks and partnership modalities
- Ensure consistent application of funding regulations across programs
4. Oversee Performance Monitoring & KPIs
- Monitor global Awards Management KPIs and Management Indicators (MIs)
- Ensure audit readiness and adherence to policies
- Identify lessons learned and escalate critical issues to senior leadership
- Strengthen accountability and reporting accuracy
5. Lead Systems & Data Management
- Manage awards and partnership workflows within NetSuite
- Maintain trackers, dashboards, and data systems
- Ensure real-time visibility of award modifications and compliance status
- Improve internal reporting systems for transparency and oversight
6. Strengthen Partnerships & Localization
- Support donor localization strategies
- Guide partner selection and performance monitoring
- Promote best practices in partnership oversight
- Champion equitable funding distribution and compliance management
7. Capacity Building & Leadership
- Design and deliver global capacity-building initiatives
- Coach Country Office Awards Leads and Senior Management Teams
- Develop global awards and partnership management manuals
- Act as deputy to the Global Awards Management Director when required
8. Ensure High-Quality Reporting
- Maintain organized award filing systems
- Review, edit, and submit donor reports as needed
- Ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency in reporting and communication
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate senior-level expertise in awards and compliance management within international organizations.
Education
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience & Technical Expertise
- Significant progressive experience in awards, grants, and compliance management
- Proven knowledge of US, European, foundation, and international government donors
- Experience tracking award budgets and ensuring donor-compliant spending
- Proficiency with grants management software and databases
- Strong English writing and narrative reporting skills
- Ability to operate within a newly established, multi-location team
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%)
Desirable qualifications include:
- Knowledge of internal controls, fraud prevention, investigations, and safeguarding
- Additional languages such as Arabic or French
