Global Social Media & Community Manager at Technovation: Remote U.S. Job | $70,000–$80,000

Technovation is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Global Social Media & Community Manager, a full-time remote opportunity focused on social media, online community building, content production, and audience engagement.
The position offers a salary of US$70,000–$80,000 per year and is open to candidates who can work remotely from anywhere in the United States. The successful candidate will help strengthen Technovation’s global community of alumni, mentors, educators, volunteers, and Women Techmakers while expanding the organization’s digital presence.
The application deadline is 30 September 2026, with an expected start date of 1 October 2026.
About the Global Social Media & Community Manager Role
The Global Social Media & Community Manager will have two major objectives: strengthening Technovation’s community and growing its global brand.
The role involves building a distributed network of alumni, mentors, educators, chapter volunteers, and community contributors who can share their experiences and promote Technovation through their own social channels.
At the same time, the successful candidate will manage day-to-day social media content and help ensure that Technovation’s activities, stories, programs, and impact are communicated effectively across digital platforms.
Because Technovation operates with a lean team supporting a large global community, the organization is looking for someone who can work independently, make strategic decisions, experiment with new approaches, and prioritize activities that create meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
A major responsibility will be managing the alumni and ambassador network. The manager will recruit, onboard, train, recognize, and retain Social Ambassadors and content contributors.
The successful candidate will also create practical resources such as prompt kits, templates, and asset packs that make it easier for community members to contribute content.
Another important part of the role involves connecting Technovation’s youth alumni with the Women Techmakers community. The organization notes that 87% of its alumni over 18 are pursuing or planning STEM degrees, creating an opportunity to build stronger connections between young people and adult women working in technology.
The manager will also own Technovation’s global social media presence, including the content calendar, publishing schedule, platform strategy, and channel voice.
Daily content production may include graphics, carousels, stories, short-form videos, and other social media assets. The manager will also edit and assemble short-form video from events, program materials, and contributor content.
Community Management and Safeguarding
The role goes beyond publishing social media posts. The manager will be responsible for day-to-day community management, including comments, direct messages, mentions, and questions.
Because Technovation works with young people from as young as eight years old, child safeguarding, participant privacy, media consent, and safe moderation are important parts of the position.
The manager will monitor community conversations, identify concerns, and escalate sensitive matters when necessary.
The position will also involve identifying and working with creators, STEM educators, youth creators, and other mission-aligned voices who can help amplify Technovation’s work.
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants should have at least four years of experience in community management, social media, or audience engagement, including at least two years where community building was a primary responsibility.
Experience in nonprofit organizations or global communities is an advantage.
Candidates should demonstrate experience building online communities where members actively create value for one another rather than simply consuming content. Experience managing volunteer, ambassador, or creator programs from recruitment through retention is also important.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across cultures, languages, and time zones and should have experience working with user-generated content creators or influencer and affiliate partnerships.
Strong content production skills are required. Applicants should be able to independently produce professional social media assets and have working knowledge of short-form video editing.
Experience using AI tools, Canva, Asana, Slack, Google Suite, social scheduling platforms, and social listening tools can also be valuable.
Excellent written English is required, while additional languages are a significant advantage because Technovation’s community spans more than 120 countries.
Salary and Benefits
The Global Social Media & Community Manager position offers an annual salary of US$70,000 to US$80,000.
Benefits include 20 vacation days, federal holidays and sick time, a paid organization-wide week-long shutdown at the end of the year, and full coverage of medical, dental, and vision costs for employees.
The benefits package also includes life insurance, a 401(k) program with an organization match after two years, flexible spending options, and a tenure bonus plan.
The position offers remote work with core working hours and flexible scheduling.
How to Apply
This is a full-time remote job for candidates based in the United States.
Interested applicants should apply online through the organization’s application process and be prepared to complete a screening task. The task asks candidates to demonstrate their experience building ambassador or volunteer programs, analyse Technovation’s public social channels, explain how they would connect youth alumni with Women Techmakers, and discuss how AI may influence social media strategies.
