About the Senior Officer, Program Operations Role
The position supports the Global Programme Operations and Programme Risk, Delivery & Performance (PRDP) functions. It combines programme coordination, project management, data analysis, communications, knowledge management and stakeholder engagement.
Rather than focusing exclusively on one country programme, the role has a global remit. The successful candidate will work with different teams and stakeholders to coordinate priorities, track progress, identify risks and support improvements in programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Approximately 40% of the role focuses on global programme operations coordination. The successful candidate will help coordinate annual workplans, monitor milestones and deliverables, prepare reports and dashboards, identify risks and dependencies, and support operational improvements.
A further 30% focuses on programme risk, delivery and performance. The Senior Officer will collect and analyse risk information, consolidate action plans and support strategic reporting for leadership and governance forums. They will also help identify trends and lessons that can improve programme effectiveness and accountability.
Around 20% of the role involves learning, knowledge management and capacity strengthening. Responsibilities include supporting learning initiatives, maintaining knowledge-management resources, sharing good practices and contributing to communities of practice.
The remaining responsibilities involve communications and leadership support, including preparing newsletters, presentations and engagement materials and supporting meetings, workshops and strategic planning activities.

A Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Project Management, Public Administration, Organisational Development, Risk Management, Management, Social Sciences or a related discipline is desirable. Equivalent relevant professional experience may also be considered.
Additional professional qualifications can strengthen an application. Certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or MSP are desirable, while training in risk management, monitoring and evaluation, organisational performance, change management, continuous improvement or knowledge management can also be valuable.
Experience using Power BI, SharePoint, data visualisation and performance-reporting tools is another advantage. Knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic may also strengthen an applicant’s profile.
