About the Senior Nutrition Researcher Role
The Senior Nutrition Researcher will play a central role in shaping GiveWell’s nutrition grantmaking portfolio, helping direct tens of millions of dollars toward interventions that effectively combat malnutrition and improve health outcomes.
The successful candidate will join a specialized nutrition team focused on three primary areas:
- Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS)
- Iron Supplementation and Food Fortification
- Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM)
In 2025 alone, GiveWell directed approximately $95 million toward nutrition-related interventions across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Nutrition Researcher will be responsible for:
- Designing and leading nutrition-focused research agendas
- Evaluating evidence related to nutrition interventions
- Developing and refining cost-effectiveness models
- Conducting complex literature reviews and data analysis
- Identifying promising new nutrition programs and funding opportunities
- Designing and overseeing learning grants and impact evaluations
