About the Grant-Making Officer Role
The Grant-Making Officer will report to the Grant-Making Manager and play a central role in coordinating GiveOut’s grant-making programme.
This position focuses on supporting every stage of the grant cycle, from due diligence and documentation to reporting, monitoring, and relationship management with grant partners.
The successful candidate will also collaborate with colleagues across communications and programme teams to ensure that grant outcomes and impact stories are effectively documented and shared with donors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support GiveOut’s grant-making programme through a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Coordinating annual grant-making cycles and timelines
- Preparing grant agreements and due diligence documentation
- Maintaining accurate grants management records
- Building strong relationships with grant partners worldwide
- Coordinating grant partner visits and logistics
- Supporting consultancy and pro bono partnerships
- Collecting narrative and financial reports
- Monitoring grant progress and maintaining reporting systems
- Documenting programme learning and organisational impact
- Representing GiveOut at meetings and sector events
- Keeping informed about developments in global LGBTQI rights
Skills and Qualifications Required
Applicants should demonstrate experience in grants management, programme administration, or a related field.
Essential qualifications include:
- Experience in grant-making, programme coordination, NGO administration, research, or social impact
- Commitment to or connection with the LGBTQI community
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Collaborative approach with strong teamwork skills
Desirable Experience
Candidates with the following additional experience will be highly competitive:
- Knowledge of international LGBTQI movements and human rights
- Experience using grants management systems
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting experience
- Content development or communications experience
- Familiarity with Google Workspace
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
- Working knowledge of another language such as French, Spanish, Arabic, or Swahili
