About the Associate, Strategic Pillars Role

The Associate, Strategic Pillars will provide administrative, operational, and coordination support across Girl Up’s Youth-Led Action and Youth Leadership initiatives.

The position plays an important role in ensuring youth leaders have access to resources, training opportunities, grant support, and community engagement platforms needed to succeed.

This fully remote opportunity is particularly attractive because candidates located in the Global South will receive priority consideration during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support a variety of operational and programmatic activities.

Youth-Led Action Support

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting youth grant administration and payment tracking
  • Managing project documentation and reporting reminders
  • Maintaining youth and club databases
  • Supporting onboarding processes for new clubs
  • Organizing resources, templates, and activist toolkits
  • Assisting with webinars, virtual trainings, and online events
  • Monitoring and responding to inquiries from community members

These responsibilities help ensure youth-led projects are effectively supported and managed.

Youth Leadership Programming

The Associate will also contribute to leadership development initiatives by:

  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding activities
  • Assisting with Teen Advisor programs
  • Supporting mental health and wellness initiatives
  • Helping manage alumni engagement activities
  • Providing administrative support for grassroots leaders
  • Maintaining leadership curricula and program resources

This work directly contributes to strengthening leadership pathways for young people globally.

Regional Team Coordination

The role requires close collaboration with regional teams to ensure programs and activities are delivered effectively across multiple countries and regions.

The Associate will help coordinate communications, support project implementation, and contribute to smooth operations across Girl Up’s global network.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Girl Up is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced remote work environment.

Candidates should have:

  • One to three years of professional experience
  • Experience in administration, operations, program coordination, youth development, or community engagement
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience managing databases and online systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Experience working remotely with teams across different regions and time zones is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications
