Role Overview
The People and Culture Manager plays a central role in shaping and sustaining GFI’s organizational culture. Reporting to the Senior Director of People Operations, this position focuses on culture and inclusion initiatives, employee engagement and experience, training and development, and employee relations support—with a strong emphasis on equity, belonging, and continuous learning.
This role is fully remote within the United States and supports a primarily remote, multi-state workforce.
How You Will Make a Difference
Culture and Inclusion
As a cultural steward for GFI, the People and Culture Manager will:
- Design, implement, and support initiatives that promote a work environment where employees feel valued, engaged, included, and empowered
- Lead GFI’s Culture Club, facilitating rotating, department-led discussions that encourage diverse perspectives and advance inclusion-focused projects
- Facilitate DEI Committee meetings and oversee implementation of priority actions from the DEI roadmap
- Support and partner with employee-led connection groups and initiatives, such as CARE Club (caregivers), Meditation Morning, Overall Well-Being League, Proud at GFI, and GFI Team Break
- Co-lead the GFI Team Break initiative in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition and People Operations Projects
Training and Development
The role places strong emphasis on learning and professional growth. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering internal training and enablement sessions on people and culture topics
- Facilitating recurring supervisor training sessions to strengthen leadership capacity
- Developing informational guides and maintaining professional development resources
- Providing advisory support for GFI’s U.S. mentorship program
- Partnering with People Operations colleagues for cross-training, collaboration, and backup support
Employee Engagement and Experience
To enhance employee experience and performance, the People and Culture Manager will:
- Manage employee engagement surveys, pulse surveys, and annual performance review cycles using Culture Amp
- Analyze survey results and support implementation of engagement and culture improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance on employee relations and performance management to both employees and supervisors
- Research and share external learning and development opportunities through the weekly Collaborative Assistance Team (CAT) newsletter
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as organizational needs evolve.
Who GFI Is Looking For
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in people operations, HR, or people and culture management
- Experience supporting a remote and multi-state workforce (preferred)
- Demonstrated success facilitating trainings, presentations, and workshops
- Strong experience with employee relations and performance management
- Familiarity with employee experience platforms; Culture Amp experience is a strong plus
- High level of cultural competence and ability to work respectfully across diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local employment laws
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- HR, People Operations, DEI, or training certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR)
- Experience leading a Culture Club, DEI Committee, or Inclusion Council
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet)
