Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking Gender Equity Curiosity Collective (GECC) Consultants to support global learning, gender equity integration, and reflective practice across its programmes. This remote part-time consultancy opportunity is open to international consultants and teams, with applications closing on 6 August 2026.

The consultancy provides an opportunity for gender equity specialists, learning professionals, and international development experts to contribute to meaningful organisational change and support programmes that promote inclusive housing solutions worldwide.

About the Opportunity

HFHI is looking for a consultant or team of learning experts to support gender equity, applied learning, and reflective practice with teams participating in the Gender Equity Curiosity Collective (GECC). Due to language and time zone requirements, the consultancy may be best delivered by a team working across different regions.

The role is designed to strengthen how gender equity is integrated into HFHI programmes by supporting teams to apply learning, improve practices, and use gender-focused tools effectively.

About the Gender Equity Curiosity Collective (GECC)

The GECC is Habitat for Humanity International’s global initiative focused on transforming its approach to gender equity within programmes.

The initiative recognises that gender norms influence people’s identities, opportunities, access to resources, housing security, and participation in decision-making. Women and gender-diverse people often face increased barriers related to property ownership, housing finance, safe housing, and community participation.

Through the GECC programme, participants work to:

• Build capacity to integrate gender equity into programmes.
• Identify promising practices using gender markers and intersectional approaches.
• Apply Habitat’s gender equity frameworks and tools.
• Improve programme design and implementation.
• Strengthen Habitat’s contribution to global gender equity.

Consultancy Responsibilities

The selected consultant(s) will provide approximately 60 working days of support through June 2027.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting participant teams as they implement gender equity approaches in their programmes.
• Advising teams on tools, methodologies, reflective practice, and inclusive learning approaches.
• Providing feedback and progress support through team check-ins.
• Supporting global approaches for engaging and strengthening teams.
• Facilitating collective learning sessions and online knowledge exchanges.
• Supporting accessible record keeping and documentation systems.
• Developing an annual global report on GECC progress.
• Updating gender equity tools and resources.
• Facilitating global gender equity training sessions.

Expected Deliverables

Consultants will contribute to:

• Improved gender equity practices among participating teams.
• Capacity assessments and reflection processes.
• Gender analysis reports.
• Gender Marker submissions.
• Programme proposals and reports.
• Research and learning documents.
• Annual GECC progress reports.
• Updated gender equity tools.
• Training delivery enabling staff to use gender equity tools effectively.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

• At least five years of experience in international development.
• Proven expertise integrating gender equity and social inclusion into programmes.
• Experience facilitating action learning and reflective practice.
• Strong knowledge management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Experience working with complex global organisations and distributed teams.
• Ability to work flexible hours across multiple time zones.
• Strong organisational skills and emotional intelligence.

Experience with gender equity in housing is preferred.
