Freelancer International Fundraiser Opportunity at Swift Sports Organisation – Remote|Apply by 23 Aug 2026

Swift Sports Organisation, a grassroots community-based organisation in Uganda, is seeking a Freelancer International Fundraiser to help mobilise resources and partnerships during a critical two-month period. The remote opportunity is open to applicants from anywhere in the world and focuses on raising funds to support the organisation’s community programmes and upcoming Swift Community Sports Festival 2026.

About Swift Sports Organisation

Swift Sports Organisation is based in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, Uganda, and began in 2018 with a simple vision: to use sport as a tool for addressing community challenges and creating opportunities for people who are often overlooked.

The organisation initially started with small evening gatherings for netball and fitness training. What began with a coach and a single mother who invited three friends gradually developed into a wider community movement involving children, young people, women, and men.

By 2019, Swift Sports Organisation had established four sporting clubs and participated in seasonal competitions. Although the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted its activities in 2020, the organisation eventually rebuilt its programmes and was formally registered as a community-based organisation in 2022.

Supporting Communities Through Sport

Today, Swift Sports Organisation continues to use sport as an entry point for community development. Its activities include netball, football, and rugby, alongside programmes aimed at supporting disadvantaged children, girls who have left school, and single mothers.

Its areas of focus include:

  • Educational support for children
  • Skills development for single mothers
  • Basic education classes
  • Child nutrition support
  • Sports talent identification and development
  • Mentorship and community wellbeing initiatives

While some programmes have already been implemented on a small scale, others require additional resources, partnerships, leadership, and sustainable funding to reach their full potential.

About the Fundraiser Role

Swift Sports Organisation is looking for an independent international fundraiser for a two-month period, with the immediate goal of helping raise USD $600.

The fundraiser will support resource mobilisation efforts during an important period for the organisation, particularly as it prepares for the upcoming Swift Community Sports Festival 2026.

The organisation is seeking someone who can bring international connections, fundraising experience, and creative approaches to mobilising support.

The successful freelancer may work across areas such as:

  • International partnerships and networking
  • Fundraising and resource mobilisation
  • Social media fundraising
  • Development of fundraising links
  • Individual donor engagement
  • International networks and outreach
  • Strategic communication
  • Professional representation

This is not presented as a conventional full-time employment opportunity. Instead, Swift Sports Organisation describes it as an independent, short-term fundraising engagement for someone willing to contribute their expertise during this particular stage of its development.

Who Should Apply?

The ideal candidate should be mature, trustworthy, compassionate, and committed to social impact. Experience in fundraising, grant management, partnership development, donor engagement, or international networking would be valuable.

Strong communication skills are also important because the fundraiser may need to communicate the organisation’s mission to potential donors, partners, individuals, and international networks.

The organisation is particularly interested in someone who believes in the ability of sport to transform lives and who can help communicate that vision to potential supporters.

Additional international language skills would be an advantage, although strong English communication skills are specifically required.

What the Opportunity Offers

Although this is a short-term freelance engagement, it provides an opportunity to contribute directly to a grassroots organisation working with communities in Uganda.

The listed benefits include:

  • Compensation based on mutual agreement
  • International and cross-cultural experience
  • Opportunities to build professional networks
  • The chance to support children, girls, and single mothers
  • Participation in developing sustainable sports and social-impact projects
  • Experience supporting a grassroots African organisation
  • An opportunity to contribute to the development of the Swift Community Sports Festival 2026

For professionals interested in fundraising, international development, sports for development, community engagement, and social impact, the opportunity provides practical exposure to resource mobilisation within a grassroots setting.

Application Details

The position is remote and can be performed from anywhere in the world. The engagement is scheduled to begin on 24 August 2026 and end on 24 October 2026. The application deadline is 23 August 2026.

The listing indicates that applicants should have a two-year degree and identifies the experience level as managerial. Applicants are also requested to provide academic documents and should be above 30 years of age, according to the vacancy information.

The advertised compensation is USD $50–$100 per month, with the final amount dependent on mutual agreement.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should review the opportunity carefully and consider whether their fundraising experience, networks, communication skills, and commitment to community development align with Swift Sports Organisation’s needs.

The organisation is specifically looking for someone prepared to actively contribute during its fundraising season and help mobilise the resources needed to advance its community programmes and sports festival.

For a fundraiser passionate about African grassroots development and the power of sport to create opportunities, this short-term remote engagement could provide an opportunity to use professional networks and fundraising skills to support a community-focused organisation in Uganda.
