Frost Valley YMCA Hiring Marketing & Communications Director (Earn Up to $95K/Year)

Frost Valley YMCA is currently recruiting a Marketing and Communications Director to lead its strategic marketing initiatives. This is a full-time remote position that must be performed in New York, offering a competitive salary of $85,000–$95,000 per year with generous benefits. Role Overview
The Marketing and Communications Director will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with Frost Valley YMCA’s mission and enhance its brand visibility. The director will oversee the creation of marketing materials, maintain a consistent brand voice, and drive engagement across multiple platforms.
Working closely with executive leadership and program directors, this role also ensures campaigns are data-driven, strategic, and integrated with fundraising and development initiatives. The director will lead a team that includes a Creative Director, an Assistant Marketing Director, and a Social Media Manager.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves a wide array of responsibilities aimed at strengthening Frost Valley YMCA’s marketing and communications presence:
- Marketing Strategy & Campaigns:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, including advertising, vendor management, design strategy, and benefit statements.
- Identify innovative opportunities to enhance brand presence and awareness.
- Content Creation & Distribution:
- Oversee creation of brochures, advertisements, websites, social media campaigns, e-newsletters, flyers, and presentations.
- Maintain consistent messaging aligned with Frost Valley’s brand voice.
- Digital & Social Media Management:
- Manage Frost Valley’s digital presence on platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and Yelp.
- Monitor engagement and implement campaigns that enhance audience reach and retention.
- Data & Performance Analysis:
- Generate data reports to evaluate marketing campaigns, inform strategy, and demonstrate ROI to executive and administrative staff.
- Use audience research to ensure messaging resonates with targeted demographics.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Hire, train, oversee, and evaluate the Creative Director and Assistant Marketing Director.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment of marketing with program goals and development initiatives.
- Event & Fundraising Communications:
- Lead marketing for key events, including major public announcements, fundraising campaigns, and community engagement efforts.
- Integrate marketing strategies with Development Department initiatives, including e-appeals, year-end campaigns, and Project 332.
- Brand & Public Relations:
- Ensure all communications adhere to brand standards.
- Prepare organization-wide statements, manage crisis communications, and maintain positive public relations.
Required Qualifications
Frost Valley YMCA seeks candidates who bring a combination of education, experience, and leadership skills:
- Education: Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: At least three years of leadership experience in marketing, communications, or brand management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite, social media platforms, email marketing tools, web management, and AI applications such as Gemini or LM Notebook.
- Leadership & Management: Demonstrated ability to manage teams, projects, and multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across departments.
- Professional Attributes: Creativity, enthusiasm, transparency, professionalism, and high-level organization skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The Marketing and Communications Director will be required to work 40+ hours per week, sometimes including evenings and weekends. Physical demands include:
- Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk across varied terrain.
- Visual acuity for close vision, distance vision, and adjustment.
