The European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) is a non-profit organisation founded in Leipzig, Germany, in 2015. It operates on the basis of the European Charter on Freedom of the Press and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
Our vision is a society where media freedom enables open discourse and everyone can seek, receive, and impart information. ECPMF’s mission is to promote, preserve, and defend media freedom. We achieve this by monitoring violations, providing practical support, and engaging diverse stakeholders across Europe.
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Freelance Fundraiser to join our team and help us secure the funding needed to continue our critical work.
Responsibilities
- Increase funding to enable ECPMF to carry out its mission is to promote, preserve and defend media freedom.
- Identify Funding Opportunities: Research and identify potential funding sources including foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
- Write Project Proposals: Develop and write compelling grant proposals, donor letters, and other funding requests that effectively communicate our mission and project goals.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to funders detailing the progress and impact of funded projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our management and program and communications teams to align fundraising efforts with our strategic goals and project needs.
Your profile
- Proven experience in fundraising, particularly within the NGO sector.
- Excellent research skills and the ability to identify and target appropriate funding opportunities.
- Strong writing skills with a demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive proposals.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and partners.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with media freedom and press-related issues is a plus.
