Lead Knowledge Management and Reporting Across Africa’s Humanitarian and Development Programmes
If you’re an experienced knowledge management or reporting professional looking to make a meaningful impact, ForAfrika is recruiting a Knowledge Management Specialist to join its Design, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (DMEAL) team.
This remote position offers the opportunity to strengthen organisational learning, improve reporting systems and support humanitarian and development programmes across Africa. The role is remote, with working hours aligned to the GMT+2 time zone, and applications close on 14 August 2026.

About the Role
The Knowledge Management Specialist serves as the organisation’s central knowledge management expert, ensuring valuable information is captured, organised and shared effectively across country offices and global teams.
Approximately 60% of the role focuses on knowledge management, while 40% is dedicated to coordinating and quality-assuring organisational and donor reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Knowledge Management
The successful candidate will:
- Build and maintain knowledge repositories using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
- Develop filing systems, templates and document management standards.
- Create an AI-enabled knowledge hub while ensuring responsible and secure use of AI tools.
- Analyse evaluations, monitoring data and programme documentation to identify lessons learned.
- Produce learning briefs, case studies, guidance notes and knowledge products.
- Facilitate communities of practice and cross-country learning events.
- Support country offices in strengthening knowledge management practices.
Reporting and Learning
Responsibilities also include:
- Managing the organisation’s reporting calendar.
- Coordinating report submissions across multiple country offices.
- Quality assuring donor and organisational reports.
- Consolidating multi-country reports into clear, evidence-based narratives.
- Working with monitoring teams to analyse programme data.
- Providing technical guidance and report-writing support to country teams.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A Master’s degree in Knowledge Management, Information Science, Development Studies, Communications or a related field (or a bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience).
- At least six years of experience in knowledge management, organisational learning or reporting within humanitarian or development programmes.
- Experience managing SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and document management systems.
- Experience using AI tools responsibly for content organisation and knowledge management.
- Strong report writing and editing skills.
- Experience synthesising complex information for different audiences.
- Practical data analysis and data visualisation skills.
- Experience facilitating learning sessions or communities of practice.
- Previous experience working in humanitarian or development programmes, preferably in Africa.
Location and Reporting Line
The successful candidate will:
- Work remotely.
- Follow GMT+2 working hours.
- Report directly to the Director of Design, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (DMEAL).
- Be expected to start on 1 September 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
