About the Team Lead, Education Role

Reporting to the Youth Programs Manager, the Team Lead, Education will oversee the daily operations of the organization’s Relationship and Sexual Health Education (RSE) and 2SLGBTQ+ youth programs.

The successful candidate will supervise a team of facilitators, coordinate program delivery, support staff development, strengthen community partnerships, and help ensure high-quality educational programming for young people.

Key Responsibilities

The Team Lead will:

• Supervise, mentor, and support five education facilitators.
• Conduct performance management, goal setting, and professional development.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and staff training.
• Ensure educational content reflects current research and best practices.
• Coordinate program scheduling and logistics for schools and community organizations.
• Provide leadership support for Camp fYrefly planning.
• Manage administrative tasks including time tracking and program resources.
• Prepare program reports and evaluation documents for leadership and funders.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and advisory committees.
• Promote the Centre for Sexuality’s education programs and respond to community inquiries.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Work, Education, Human Services, Public Health, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of leadership or program management experience in a nonprofit or related environment.
• A minimum of three years of experience delivering youth programs.
• Knowledge of health promotion models and population health strategies.
• Strong understanding of youth engagement and community-based programming.
• Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to social justice, collaboration, self-determination, and prevention.

Knowledge of sexuality, sexual health, gender identity, and sexual and gender diversity is considered a valuable asset.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates should also have:

• Access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• A Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (or willingness to obtain one).
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to become certified.
