The Shwetaungthagathu Reform Initiative Centre (SRIc) is accepting applications for its Junior Research Fellowship (Sustainability Lab), a part-time remote internship designed for emerging researchers passionate about sustainability, governance, and public policy. Although the internship is unpaid, participants will gain practical research experience while working with experienced sustainability professionals and expanding their professional networks.

About SRIc

The Shwetaungthagathu Reform Initiative Centre (SRIc) is a non-partisan think-and-do tank and consultancy based in Myanmar that promotes sustainable governance, policy innovation, and sustainability literacy. Through its Sustainability Lab, the organization conducts policy research and develops evidence-based recommendations that support environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

One of its flagship initiatives is the PolyLens Project, which analyzes Myanmar’s complex social, political, and environmental challenges through a sustainability lens. Research produced under the project is published through The Sabai Online, quarterly reports, webinars, and podcast series.

About the Fellowship

The Junior Research Fellowship provides aspiring researchers with an opportunity to develop practical skills in policy research, sustainability analysis, and science communication. Fellows will work closely with senior researchers while contributing to research publications, policy briefs, and public knowledge initiatives that advance sustainable development.

The internship is:

• Position: Junior Research Fellow (Sustainability Lab)

• Workload: 30 hours per month (180 hours total)

Key Responsibilities

Successful fellows will support a wide range of research and communication activities, including:

• Conducting primary and secondary research on sustainability and public policy.

• Managing and analyzing research data.
