Key Responsibilities
The Senior Advisor will provide high-level strategic and technical support across several important areas.
Strategic Advisory
The successful candidate will advise the RBM Partnership and malaria-endemic countries on sustainable solutions for malaria commodities. This includes identifying emerging opportunities, risks, and priorities related to market shaping, country readiness, localization, and regional manufacturing.
The advisor will also provide technical inputs to support evidence-based decisions and strengthen RBM’s strategic positioning within global and regional initiatives.
Market Shaping and Sustainable Access
A major component of the role involves addressing market challenges affecting malaria commodities. The Senior Advisor will support initiatives designed to improve the affordability, availability, and sustainable access of priority malaria products.
The position will also involve coordinating with global, regional, and national partners, monitoring agreed actions, and recommending practical solutions to emerging challenges.
Localization and Regional Manufacturing
The successful candidate will provide advice on the localization and regionalization of malaria commodity manufacturing.
This may include supporting manufacturing initiatives, identifying opportunities to strengthen regional manufacturing ecosystems, and improving the sustainability of malaria-related supply chains, particularly within Africa.
Country Readiness
Another major responsibility is helping countries prepare for the introduction, scale-up, and sustainable deployment of new and existing malaria commodities.
The advisor will assess readiness gaps and implementation bottlenecks involving policy, regulation, financing, procurement, supply chains, and operational requirements.
The role will also contribute to technical guidance, readiness frameworks, learning products, and country support packages.
Who Can Apply?

Applicants must have at least seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in global health, health commodities, pharmaceutical or health-product markets, supply chains, country readiness, market shaping, or a related field.
Candidates should also demonstrate experience providing strategic technical advice within international health programmes and working with governments, regional institutions, and international partners.
Experience with malaria commodities—including medicines, diagnostics, vaccines, vector-control products, or emerging malaria tools—is required.
Experience in malaria-endemic countries, particularly in Africa, is considered an asset.
Language Requirements
Fluent English is required. Basic knowledge of French is desirable.
Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, coordination, partnership-building, and stakeholder-management skills are also important for this position.
