Climate Equity Fund Hiring Marketing & Communications Manager for Remote Role Paying Up to $140,000

The Climate Equity Fund is recruiting a Marketing & Communications Manager for a remote position in the United States, offering an annual salary of $125,000 to $140,000. The opportunity is designed for an experienced communications professional who can strengthen organizational visibility, develop compelling stories, manage digital platforms, and support strategic engagement with funders, partners, grantees, and other stakeholders.

The Climate Equity Fund is an independent 501(c)(3) public charity and strategic collaborative funder focused on advancing equitable climate action and clean energy policy. Founded in 2016, the organization works with community-based organizations across 14 U.S. states to strengthen grassroots leadership, build political power, transform public narratives around climate change, and advance racial, economic, and environmental justice.

Marketing & Communications Manager Role

The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping the organization’s public voice and communications strategy. The position combines strategic communications, content creation, brand management, digital engagement, storytelling, project management, and fundraising communications.

The manager will be responsible for translating complex issues involving climate change, racial equity, and clean energy into clear and engaging content that can reach diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities will include maintaining the organization’s messaging architecture, style guides, visual identity standards, and brand voice. The successful candidate will also develop communications calendars, editorial workflows, content production systems, templates, and standard operating procedures.

Content creation will represent a significant part of the position. The manager will write, edit, and oversee newsletters, website content, reports, presentations, talking points, social media posts, announcements, and other communications materials. They will also gather stories, data, lessons learned, and impact information from staff and grantees to demonstrate the organization’s work and achievements.

Digital Communications and Audience Engagement

The Marketing & Communications Manager will oversee a range of digital communication activities, including website updates, email communications, social media channels, and emerging digital platforms.

Responsibilities will include planning and scheduling digital content, monitoring engagement, supporting email audience segmentation, and tracking communications performance. The manager will analyze KPIs and digital analytics and recommend tools and strategies that can improve audience engagement and organizational visibility.

The role also involves supporting executive thought leadership by preparing speeches, presentations, talking points, and other written materials.

Collaboration and Project Management

This is a highly collaborative position. The successful candidate will work with leadership, program teams, fundraising staff, external consultants, creative vendors, communications agencies, and other partners.

The manager may coordinate designers, photographers, video producers, data visualization specialists, and other communications professionals. They will also support events, webinars, funder engagements, conferences, retreats, and external convenings.

Strong organizational and project management skills will therefore be important, particularly for someone who can manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders while maintaining high-quality communications.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field is preferred. However, equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, and professional experience may also be considered.

Applicants should have at least three years of experience working in nonprofit, philanthropic, climate justice, racial equity, advocacy, or another mission-driven environment. The organization also seeks candidates with approximately five years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, strategic storytelling, brand management, or related areas.

Strong writing, editing, proofreading, storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidates should also have experience managing websites, social media, email communications, digital engagement strategies, editorial calendars, messaging frameworks, and communications projects.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CRM systems, email marketing platforms, marketing automation tools, or data visualization may be advantageous.

Salary, Benefits and Travel

The salary range is $125,000–$140,000 per year, with compensation potentially varying based on the employee’s geographical labor market, skills, and experience.

The benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, family coverage, a retirement plan with employer matching, generous vacation time, and sick leave.

The position requires approximately 10–15% annual travel for meetings, conferences, retreats, convenings, and other organizational events.

Important Work Authorization Requirement

Although the position is advertised as remote, applicants should pay close attention to the location requirement. The role is remote within the United States, and candidates must already be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

The organization does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship, including H-1B sponsorship. This means international applicants who are not currently authorized to work in the United States would generally not meet the stated work authorization requirement.

How to Apply

Interested candidates are expected to submit a resume and cover letter through the online application portal. The cover letter should explain the applicant’s relevant experience and qualifications, interest in the Climate Equity Fund, interest in the Marketing & Communications Manager position, and salary requirement.

Applications are encouraged as soon as possible because recruitment is moving quickly.

This opportunity could be particularly attractive to experienced communications professionals with backgrounds in climate action, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, advocacy, environmental justice, or social impact. However, applicants should carefully review the U.S. work authorization requirement before applying.
