Relief Applications Is Hiring for 3 Remote Opportunities in Humanitarian Tech and Communications

Relief Applications is offering exciting remote opportunities for professionals and early-career candidates interested in humanitarian technology, communications, human resources and nonprofit development. The organisation is currently seeking candidates for three roles: Communications & Marketing Intern, HR & Talent Acquisition Manager, and Business Development Consultant for the French NGO Market.

These positions provide an opportunity to work with a mission-driven organisation that develops digital tools and services designed to strengthen the effectiveness of humanitarian and nonprofit organisations.

About Relief Applications

Relief Applications is a European organisation working at the intersection of technology and humanitarian action. The organisation develops digital solutions that help NGOs, UN agencies and other mission-driven organisations improve their operations and impact.

Its work covers areas including information management, monitoring and evaluation, mobile and web applications, artificial intelligence, engagement strategies, privacy and cybersecurity, and capacity building.

The organisation works through a network of expert consultants and an expanding in-house team across France and Spain.

Communications & Marketing Intern

The Communications & Marketing Intern is a part-time remote internship shared between two mission-driven organisations: OuiRace and Relief Applications.

The intern will spend approximately two days per week with OuiRace and one day per week with Relief Applications.

OuiRace operates a platform for charity sports challenges, connecting participants, associations and partners around meaningful causes. The intern will support communications activities connected to charity challenges and campaigns.

At Relief Applications, the intern will contribute to broader communications activities related to humanitarian technology projects.

Responsibilities are expected to include:

  • Supporting day-to-day social media activities.
  • Creating and managing content.
  • Supporting communications campaigns.
  • Assisting with events and outreach.
  • Helping promote humanitarian technology projects.
  • Supporting communications for charity initiatives.

This opportunity could be particularly valuable for someone looking to gain practical experience across communications, social media, campaigns, events and the nonprofit sector.

HR & Talent Acquisition Manager

Relief Applications is also seeking a part-time, remote HR & Talent Acquisition Manager. Importantly, this position is open only to candidates located in Europe because of the nature of the work.

The successful candidate will play an important role in attracting, recruiting and supporting the organisation’s international workforce.

The position involves helping Relief Applications identify and recruit talented professionals while also supporting the day-to-day HR functions required to keep its international team engaged, supported and compliant.

The role is likely to suit an experienced HR professional with strong recruitment and people-management capabilities.

Key areas include:

  • Talent attraction and recruitment.
  • Managing recruitment processes.
  • Supporting employees and consultants.
  • Human resources administration.
  • Compliance and people-related processes.
  • Supporting organisational development.
  • Helping maintain a positive workplace culture.

The successful candidate will contribute directly to the organisation’s ability to build the team needed to deliver technology and humanitarian projects.

Business Development Consultant – French Market

The third opportunity is a part-time, remote Business Development Consultant focused specifically on the French nonprofit and NGO market.

The consultant will support the growth of Relief Applications’ Data Protection 4 Good (DP4G) initiative.

DP4G provides outsourced Data Protection Officer services, audits and training designed specifically for NGOs, associations and humanitarian organisations. The initiative helps mission-driven organisations strengthen their personal data protection and GDPR compliance.

The Business Development Consultant will therefore focus on introducing these services to potential clients across the French nonprofit sector.

The role is particularly suitable for someone with:

  • Business development experience.
  • Strong understanding of the French nonprofit sector.
  • Experience selling professional services.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An interest in data protection and GDPR compliance.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

This opportunity combines commercial development with social impact, making it potentially attractive to professionals who want to use their business skills within the nonprofit and humanitarian sector.

Why These Opportunities Stand Out

These positions offer different entry points into the growing field of humanitarian technology and mission-driven work.

The Communications & Marketing Internship offers practical experience for someone developing a career in communications. The HR & Talent Acquisition Manager role provides an opportunity for an experienced people professional to support an international organisation. Meanwhile, the Business Development Consultant position offers an opportunity to contribute to the expansion of data protection services for NGOs and associations.

All three roles are part-time and remote, although the HR & Talent Acquisition Manager position has a specific European location requirement.
