About WIDE+

WIDE+ is a European network of feminist activists, scholars and women’s rights organisations working to promote gender equality and feminist change across Europe.

The network connects hundreds of associations through national membership-based organisations and networks. Its formal membership includes more than 31 associations registered in European countries, with members working across a range of feminist and social justice priorities.

WIDE+ operates through thematic working groups covering areas including migration and gender, gender and trade, feminist movement building and feminist economic education.

As part of its work under the WE-EMPOWER II project, supported through the EU CERV Structural Grant 2025–2027, WIDE+ is seeking to strengthen its approach to understanding organisational impact.

Purpose of the Consultancy

The consultancy is designed to help WIDE+ move beyond simply counting activities and outputs.

While the organisation already undertakes narrative reporting and quantitative tracking, it wants to develop a deeper understanding of how change happens and how its work contributes to longer-term impact.

The selected consultant will help the organisation examine the connections between:

  • Objectives
  • Activities
  • Outputs
  • Outcomes
  • Impact
  • Long-term sustainable change

A major focus will also be placed on policy influence, helping WIDE+ understand how its advocacy and strategic priorities contribute to changes in European policies.

The training should be practical, participatory and grounded in intersectional feminist approaches.

Key Responsibilities

The successful consultant will be responsible for several important components of the assignment.

Training Preparation and Design

The consultant will develop a tailored training curriculum based on WIDE+’s needs. The programme should respond to the organisation’s current understanding of impact assessment while introducing practical approaches that can strengthen its systems.

In-Person Training

The consultant will facilitate the training in Bucharest on 27 September 2026. The wider capacity-building event will bring together up to 55 members and partners.

The training will focus on improving participants’ ability to understand, assess and communicate organisational impact.

Development of Practical Materials

Another important responsibility will be developing tools, methodologies and training materials that WIDE+ can continue using after the training.

These resources are expected to support internal learning, monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment processes.

Online Follow-Up

The consultant will also lead an online follow-up session approximately one month after the face-to-face training. This will provide an opportunity to reflect on how the proposed methodologies have been implemented and identify areas for improvement.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is particularly suited to professionals with a strong background in M&E, impact assessment and Theory of Change development.

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in impact assessment and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience developing and applying Theory of Change models.
  • Experience working with NGOs, networks or civil society organisations.
  • Strong understanding of intersectional feminist approaches.
  • Experience working at a transnational or European level.
  • Strong facilitation and communication abilities.
  • The ability to transform complex concepts into practical tools.

Experience delivering capacity-building workshops for feminist organisations, advocacy groups or civil society networks would be an advantage.

Applicants must be located in a European country, including non-EU countries. Although preparation can be conducted remotely, physical attendance in Bucharest is required for the relevant September activities.

Payment and Working Arrangement

The consultancy is expected to require between 8 and 11 working days, covering preparation, training delivery, development of supporting materials and follow-up activities.

The advertised daily rate is €400, exclusive of VAT.

The consultancy runs from 28 August to 15 November 2026, although most activities are expected to take place during September. WIDE+ also notes that the assignment may be divided into two parts.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit a CV and a one-page motivation letter explaining their suitability for the consultancy.

Applications must be sent to info@wideplus.org by 23:59 CET on 18 August 2026.

The opportunity is particularly relevant for consultants who combine expertise in impact measurement, organisational learning, Theory of Change and feminist approaches. It offers the chance to work directly with a European feminist network and contribute to stronger approaches to measuring meaningful social and political change.
