About the Consultancy
The Coordinator – Asia Advocacy and Campaign Consultancy will support Oxfam’s regional advocacy team in delivering major advocacy initiatives scheduled throughout 2026 and beyond.
The consultant will coordinate activities leading up to several high-profile international events, including:
- World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok
- COP31 Climate Conference
- Preparatory activities for the G20 Korea Summit
- Regional climate justice campaigns
- Inequality advocacy initiatives
Working closely with Oxfam staff and regional partners, the consultant will ensure campaign activities are delivered efficiently while maintaining strong coordination across multiple stakeholders.
Consultancy Objectives
The consultancy aims to strengthen Oxfam’s regional advocacy work by:
- Coordinating climate justice and inequality campaigns across Asia.
- Supporting campaign planning and implementation.
- Managing documentation, procurement, logistics, and compliance.
- Coordinating advocacy events and regional meetings.
- Supporting communications and campaign visibility.
- Strengthening partnerships with civil society organizations and regional networks.
- Producing reports and documenting campaign outcomes.
Climate Justice Campaign Responsibilities
The selected consultant will coordinate several climate-focused initiatives, including:
- Organizing the Regional Fossil Free Futures Youth Mobilization Workshop.
- Supporting publication of the Disaster Divide in Asia briefing paper before COP31.
- Coordinating youth engagement during Bangkok Climate Action Week.
- Managing regional climate justice social media campaigns.
- Organizing webinars to launch campaign publications.
- Working closely with campaign partners including Fossil Fuel Treaty and CANSEA.
These initiatives will contribute to regional advocacy on climate finance, just energy transition, and stronger climate policies.
Inequality Campaign Activities
The consultant will also support Oxfam’s inequality campaign by coordinating activities such as:
- Organizing an international conference on public services and inequality at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.
- Supporting regional digital campaigns targeting the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings.
- Working with digital media consultants to develop engagement strategies for the 2027 World Economic Forum in Davos.
- Coordinating collaboration between Oxfam country teams and advocacy partners.
Support for G20 Preparatory Activities
An important component of the consultancy involves supporting preparations for future G20 advocacy.
Responsibilities include:
- Organizing regional civil society preparatory meetings.
- Identifying and engaging regional CSOs, movements, and advocacy partners.
- Preparing meeting agendas alongside Oxfam’s global G20 coordination team.
- Managing logistics for regional meetings.
- Supporting follow-up actions and documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
Beyond campaign coordination, the consultant will:
- Develop campaign workplans and implementation timelines.
- Coordinate communications with internal teams and external partners.
- Manage contracts, procurement, payments, and compliance processes.
- Coordinate campaign messaging and communications materials.
- Maintain organized documentation and campaign records.
- Produce concise reports highlighting achievements, lessons learned, and recommendations.
Expected Deliverables
During the consultancy, the selected consultant will deliver:
- A comprehensive workshop report on the Fossil Free Futures youth mobilization programme.
- A final report summarizing climate justice and inequality campaign achievements.
- A short action plan following the G20 preparatory meeting.
- Successful coordination of Bangkok Climate Action Week activities.
- Logistical support for advocacy events and regional meetings completed within agreed timelines.
Required Qualifications
Oxfam seeks consultants who possess:
- Strong experience in project coordination and event management.
- Experience coordinating advocacy campaigns or regional policy initiatives.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Understanding of climate justice and inequality issues.
- Knowledge of Oxfam systems and administrative procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders across countries.
Candidates with experience in international advocacy campaigns, coalition building, and regional coordination will be particularly well suited for this assignment.
