About the Programme Associate Role
The Programme Associate will support APWLD’s Labour Programme and Migration Programme, working closely with programme officers, members, and partner organizations.
The Migration Programme focuses on ensuring women migrants have access to human rights, information, leadership opportunities, and collective organizing spaces. It supports initiatives such as feminist organizing training, participatory research, advocacy, and migrant movement building.
The Labour Programme works to advance women workers’ rights, including access to decent work, fair wages, and participation in labour movements.
The successful applicant will contribute to programmes that support women workers and migrants throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
The Programme Associate will provide support across several areas, including:
- Assisting with planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programme activities.
- Supporting training sessions, research activities, campaigns, consultations, and advocacy initiatives.
- Coordinating communication with network members, partners, and grassroots organizations.
- Supporting logistics for meetings, workshops, and international events.
- Assisting participants with travel arrangements, visas, finance coordination, and event preparation.
- Supporting documentation of programme activities and preparing reports.
- Helping develop knowledge resources, publications, and advocacy materials.
- Assisting with programme narrative reports and financial reporting for donors and partners.
Eligibility and Required Qualifications
APWLD is looking for candidates with experience and commitment to feminist movements, women’s rights, labour rights, and migration issues.
Applicants should have:
- A demonstrated commitment to women’s human rights in Asia and the Pacific.
- Knowledge of political, economic, and social issues affecting women in the region.
- Two to three years of experience in development work, human rights, migration, labour movements, or social movements.
- A degree in social sciences, law, human rights, development studies, women’s studies, or related fields.
- Experience supporting programme coordination and administrative tasks.
- Research skills, including qualitative, quantitative, legal, or desk research.
- Ability to analyze social, economic, and development policies.
- Experience working with grassroots organizations and communities.
- Strong teamwork and coordination skills.
- Project management knowledge, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.

Salary and Benefits
