About the Role
The Head of Finance will provide both strategic and operational leadership across CIVICUS’ finance function. The role combines high-level financial planning with hands-on management to ensure strong financial governance, transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, compliance, and organisational financial systems while supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The Head of Finance will be responsible for a broad range of financial leadership duties, including:
Financial Management and Reporting
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate financial reports for management, donors, the Board, and other stakeholders.
- Leading organisational budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Preparing annual financial statements.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and other applicable accounting standards.
- Managing month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Coordinating statutory, donor, and project audits.
