Key Responsibilities of the Carbon Finance Associate
The Carbon Finance Associate will play an important role in improving the financial strength and sustainability of carbon market projects. The successful candidate will support financial planning, investment analysis, and project development activities related to Natural Climate Solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing financial models and assessing the financial viability of Natural Climate Solutions carbon projects.
- Supporting feasibility studies and project design documentation.
- Creating financial planning and analysis tools for the Carbon Markets Team, TNC business units, and project partners.
- Supporting equitable benefit-sharing arrangements between project stakeholders.
- Designing financial mechanisms that promote fair community compensation and incentive structures.
- Conducting research on carbon market trends, carbon credit pricing, investment opportunities, and emerging market developments.
- Supporting coordination with internal teams and external partners involved in carbon project implementation.
- Travelling when required and working flexible hours to support global projects.
The role requires an individual who can work independently, solve complex problems, and translate financial data into strategic recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills Required

Required qualifications include:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least four years of relevant professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Knowledge of Natural Climate Solutions carbon project development.

Salary and Benefits
For candidates based in the United States, the starting annual salary range for this position is approximately $90,000 to $110,000, depending on location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
