Working closely with the Head of East Africa and collaborating with teams in London and Bogotá, the successful candidate will play a central role in project delivery, stakeholder engagement, team development, and market growth across the region.

Position Details

Position: Manager

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in the Riverside co-working office)

Key Responsibilities

The role is structured around three major pillars:

1. End-to-End Project Delivery

The Manager will lead the development and execution of complex advisory projects across East Africa.

Responsibilities include:

  • Transforming complex social challenges into actionable solutions
  • Designing innovative finance mechanisms and funding models
  • Leading blended finance and results-based financing initiatives
  • Developing high-quality financial models and analytical tools
  • Producing strategic reports and advisory recommendations
  • Supporting clients in achieving measurable development outcomes

2. Stakeholder Management

The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between international funders and local implementing organizations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Facilitating collaboration between donors, governments, NGOs, and development partners
  • Translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Guiding clients through challenging institutional environments
  • Supporting partnership development and stakeholder engagement activities

3. Team and Market Development

As one of the senior members of the Nairobi team, the Manager will contribute to both organizational growth and talent development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding of local team members
  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff
  • Managing analysts and associates across global offices
  • Coordinating external consultants and specialists
  • Contributing to business development efforts
  • Building new partnerships and expanding Social Finance International’s presence across East Africa

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in development finance, consulting, impact investing, or international development
  • Expertise in financial modeling and strategic analysis
