Field Production (FP) is seeking a Business Development Associate to support its growth strategy by identifying new opportunities, coordinating proposals and strengthening partnerships with international organisations across the Middle East, North Africa and Africa.

This opportunity is suitable for professionals interested in humanitarian communications, donor relations, proposal development and business growth. The successful candidate will work with the Business Development Unit to prepare high-quality bids, tenders, concept notes and expressions of interest for clients including UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, government institutions and private sector organisations.

Role Overview

The Business Development Associate will support the Business Development Team in expanding FP’s project portfolio and strengthening its pipeline of opportunities.

The role involves researching funding opportunities, supporting proposal preparation and coordinating internal teams to deliver competitive submissions.

The Associate will work closely with the Business Development Team Lead and Head of Business Development to identify opportunities aligned with Field Production’s services and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Identifying Business Opportunities

The Business Development Associate will monitor relevant platforms and networks to identify potential opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Tracking donor portals and procurement platforms.
  • Researching funding opportunities.
  • Monitoring partner networks.
  • Identifying consultancy and project opportunities aligned with FP’s services.

The role requires strong research skills and an understanding of humanitarian and development funding environments.

Proposal Development and Coordination

The Associate will support the preparation of professional submissions, including:

  • Bids.
  • Tenders.
  • Concept notes.
  • Expressions of interest.
  • Client proposals.

The position will ensure that submissions meet donor requirements, follow guidelines and are delivered within deadlines.

The Associate will coordinate with technical, finance and operations teams to develop strong proposals.

Business Development Support

The role will contribute to strengthening organisational systems by:

  • Updating opportunity pipelines.
  • Maintaining proposal databases.
  • Managing organisational profiles.
  • Updating consultant databases.
  • Supporting partnership documentation.

The Associate will also analyse donor trends and previous proposal outcomes to improve future business development strategies.

Supporting Interns and Team Growth

The successful candidate will provide guidance to Business Development Interns by:

  • Reviewing research and proposal work.
  • Supporting learning processes.
  • Sharing knowledge on donor research and proposal preparation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should have strong communication, research and writing abilities.

Key requirements include:

  • Advanced English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as:
    • Media.
    • Journalism.
    • Graphic design.
    • Development studies.
    • Social sciences.
    • International relations.
    • Business administration.

Additional preferred experience includes:

  • At least one year of experience in a related field.
  • Strong business development skills.
  • Proposal writing and editorial experience.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of humanitarian and development sectors.
  • Experience working in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Desired Knowledge and Competencies

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Understanding of political and humanitarian contexts in countries such as Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and Libya.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Reporting and email communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct market mapping and support design-related activities.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
