Role Overview
The Senior Research Officer reports to the Deputy Director of Research, Evaluation, and Learning. This role provides technical, operational, and strategic leadership across Equimundo’s digital research portfolio, which focuses on the online behaviors, interventions, and narratives of men and boys. Up to 30% travel may be required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research Portfolio Management:
- Oversee research projects across all stages: design, tool development, training, data collection, analysis, and ethical conduct
- Manage project budgets, contracts, and reporting to funders
- Deliver high-quality outcomes while adhering to timelines and budgets
- Digital Research Expertise:
- Conduct research on digital behaviors, interventions, and methodologies
- Apply advanced tools such as social media listening, data scraping, narrative shift analysis, and digital ethnography
- Track trends, sentiment, and online discourse to inform interventions
- Knowledge Leadership:
- Serve as a capacity-building resource internally and externally
- Maintain connections with the broader research community through working groups or learning collaboratives
- Present research at conferences and events to advance organizational thought leadership
Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Proven ability to develop innovative evaluation approaches for digital interventions
- Experience in project management and partnership development
- Demonstrated skill presenting research findings to diverse audiences
- Passion for Equimundo’s mission and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred:
- Expertise in gender and masculinities or at least one of Equimundo’s thematic areas
- Experience conducting digital research on men and boys, including online behaviors and interventions
- Fluency in an additional language (preferably French or Arabic)
