About the Lead Product Manager Role
EdReports is looking for a strategic and collaborative product leader to oversee the entire product lifecycle for a portfolio of research and development (R&D) initiatives. The successful candidate will lead product discovery, strategy, design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement while working closely with engineering, design, research, content, marketing, and operations teams.
A major focus of the role will be developing innovative products that strengthen how educators evaluate instructional quality, including new tools centered on instructional coherence and evidence of product effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead Product Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing products throughout the complete product lifecycle
- Identifying opportunities for new products and product improvements
- Conducting product discovery through user research and stakeholder engagement
- Developing product strategies, roadmaps, and success metrics
- Collaborating with engineering, design, research, content, marketing, and operations teams
- Analyzing product performance using qualitative and quantitative data
- Prioritizing product enhancements based on research and user needs
- Presenting product strategies and recommendations to organizational leadership
- Building cross-functional collaboration across departments
- Embedding Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity (DBIE) principles into product development
The role requires balancing long-term strategic planning with day-to-day product execution while ensuring products deliver measurable impact for educators and students.
First 90 Days
During the first three months, the successful candidate will:
First 30 Days
- Learn EdReports’ mission, product portfolio, and strategic priorities
- Build relationships with cross-functional teams
- Gain an understanding of review tools and evaluation processes
- Establish the Research & Design team structure
First 60 Days
- Develop an initial product vision and strategic roadmap
- Understand organizational governance and decision-making processes
First 90 Days
- Present product strategy recommendations
- Build organizational alignment around the product roadmap
- Become a trusted strategic partner across the organization
This structured onboarding process is designed to position the new hire for long-term success.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- At least five years of progressive product management experience
- Experience leading complex cross-functional products
- Strong strategic thinking and execution skills
- Product discovery and lifecycle management experience
- Expertise using data, analytics, and user research to guide decisions
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience with user-centered design principles
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience will stand out:
- Building products from concept to launch
- Managing mature products through continuous improvement
- Experience in education or nonprofit organizations
- Knowledge of curriculum development or evaluation systems
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum product development methodologies

Salary and Benefits
