One Earth is Seeking a Social Media Associate – Apply Before 10 March 2026

The Social Media Associate is integral to amplifying One Earth’s mission by creating, managing, and publishing engaging climate and nature-focused content across digital platforms. This position supports daily social media operations while collaborating with the Digital Media Director and the broader communications and development teams.

Ideal candidates are creative, detail-oriented, and mission-driven. They possess a strong understanding of visual storytelling, clarity, and consistent messaging. A passion for climate, conservation, and sustainability underpins their approach to engaging audiences and inspiring action.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Publishing

  • Develop and schedule posts for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, and BlueSky
  • Adapt articles, graphics, videos, and campaigns for platform-specific formats
  • Write clear and compelling captions aligned with One Earth’s voice

Community Engagement

  • Monitor comments, messages, and mentions
  • Respond or flag inquiries appropriately
  • Foster a positive, informed, and inclusive online community
  • Track trending conversations on climate, biodiversity, and conservation

Content Coordination & Support

  • Assist in maintaining content calendars and campaign rollouts
  • Organize assets and optimize content for accuracy and alignment
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, and program staff to maintain quality

Analytics & Optimization

  • Track engagement metrics such as reach, follower growth, and impressions
  • Identify content trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide reporting and insights for internal evaluations and campaign strategy

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2–4 years of social media management experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone and clarity
  • Familiarity with major social platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social)
  • Basic knowledge of social media analytics and performance metrics
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Passion for climate, biodiversity, sustainability, regenerative agriculture, or environmental justice

Preferred:

  • Experience creating simple graphics and short-form videos (Canva, Adobe, platform tools)
  • Familiarity with content calendars and campaign planning
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices (alt text, captions, inclusive language)
  • Confidence on camera or microphone to represent One Earth
  • Ability to create culturally responsive and engaging content

Physical Requirements

Compensation & Benefits

One Earth offers a competitive, mission-driven work environment:

  • Salary range: $45,000–$55,000 (based on location and experience)
  • Flexible, remote-friendly work structure
