Remote Direct Response Assistant Opportunity
The Direct Response Assistant will provide administrative and project coordination support for Earthjustice’s fundraising mail programmes. The successful candidate will help coordinate donor acquisition, renewal, reinstatement, and upgrade campaigns while ensuring smooth collaboration between fundraising, communications, development operations, and external vendors.
This is a full-time, 12-month position designed to provide additional capacity during an important evaluation period for Earthjustice’s direct mail programme.

Key Responsibilities
The Direct Response Assistant will support fundraising campaigns and organisational operations through three main areas:
Administrative Support (30%)
Responsibilities include:
- Processing invoices and supporting financial administration
- Monitoring fundraising premium inventory
- Coordinating meetings with internal teams and external vendors
- Supporting vendor performance reviews
- Maintaining direct marketing documentation
- Sharing fundraising performance reports and updates with stakeholders
Project and Systems Coordination (65%)
The majority of the role focuses on campaign coordination, including:
- Supporting direct mail fundraising campaigns
- Managing production schedules and timelines
- Coordinating copy review and marketing materials
- Tracking campaign workflows
- Supporting communication between internal teams and external partners
- Maintaining gift processing procedures
- Supporting donor database accuracy and data entry standards
The position requires strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving nonprofit environment.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least two years of relevant experience, or
- Associate degree plus four years of relevant experience
Candidates should demonstrate:

Hourly salary ranges depend on location:
- New York and San Francisco: $37.33 – $41.49 per hour
- Chicago, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington DC: $35.49 – $39.44 per hour
- Anchorage, Juneau, Denver, Philadelphia: $33.64 – $37.38 per hour
- Bozeman, Houston, Miami, Tallahassee: $31.74 – $35.28 per hour
- Remote US: Salary varies depending on location
Based on the listed ranges, the role can provide an approximate annual equivalent of more than $65,000 USD, depending on location and hourly rate.
