About the Visualization and Digital Communication Specialist Role
The Visualization and Digital Communication Specialist will work within ACLED’s Global Risk Center and report to the Manager of Risk Outputs.
The role combines data visualization, conflict analysis, research, digital communication, and visual storytelling. The successful candidate will be expected to create high-quality visual outputs that make complex information easier for audiences to understand.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing original visualizations that communicate conflict patterns, themes, and analytical findings.
Key duties include:
- Creating publishable-quality maps, graphs, and other visualizations for ACLED departments.
- Producing regional, thematic, and global visual outputs.
- Developing and updating guidelines for data visualization and visual analysis.
- Supporting innovation in ACLED’s visual reporting and brand identity.
- Researching new visualization methods, technologies, and software.
- Contributing to Global Risk Center and External Affairs outputs.
- Supporting responses to journalist enquiries.
- Ensuring visualizations accurately reflect the underlying data and analysis.
- Transforming complex datasets into compelling visual stories.
- Supporting outreach involving media, partners, and external stakeholders.
- Participating in internal meetings and coordination activities.
