Role Overview: Digital Communications Associate

  • Full-time, remote position (U.S.-based)

  • Reports to Senior Communications Manager

Key Responsibilities

Digital Communications Management

  • Publish newsletters using MailChimp (e.g., Reproductive Rights Digest, Trans Digest, Impact Docket)
  • Maintain and update organization websites (press, blogs, staff pages)
  • Generate analytics reports for web and email performance
  • Manage digital workflows and automation systems
  • Support mailing list and database management

Social Media & Audience Engagement

  • Manage daily content across social media platforms
  • Create and schedule posts for organizational campaigns
  • Monitor and respond to comments and messages
  • Manage and moderate a 100,000+ private Facebook group
  • Support SMS communication campaigns and outreach messaging

Content Creation & Design

  • Draft communications copy for external audiences
  • Design graphics using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
  • Create visual assets for campaigns and digital storytelling
  • Develop content for advocacy campaigns and pro bono initiatives

Multimedia Production

  • Assist in producing and editing videos for campaigns and events
  • Support visual storytelling for Pro Bono Awards and initiatives
  • Create digital media for social platforms and fundraising campaigns

Event Support

  • Assist in marketing and communications for virtual events
  • Support event logistics and communications coordination
  • Serve as backup support for Events Manager during live sessions

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–3 years experience in communications, marketing, or related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Experience with social media management for organizations
  • Familiarity with email platforms (MailChimp preferred)
  • Experience with website CMS tools
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva or Adobe Suite)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Comfort working with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Interest in social justice and legal advocacy work

Preferred Qualifications
