CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS 2026: IDEA Announces Research Consultancy on Global North–South Partnerships in Education
The Irish Development Education Association (IDEA), in partnership with Concern Worldwide, is inviting experienced consultants to apply for a research consultancy exploring best practices in equitable Global North–South partnerships in Global Citizenship Education (GCE).
This opportunity is designed for professionals with expertise in international development, research, partnership building, NGO programmes, education, and participatory approaches who can help identify practical solutions for creating stronger and more sustainable global collaborations.
The selected consultant will conduct research, engage stakeholders, analyse evidence, and develop recommendations that will support organisations working to strengthen Global Citizenship Education partnerships.
About the IDEA Research Consultancy
IDEA is seeking a consultant to explore how organisations in Ireland and the Global South can build partnerships that are:
- Equitable
- Reciprocal
- Sustainable
- Community-focused
The research will examine existing approaches, successful examples, and lessons learned from organisations delivering Global Citizenship Education.
The findings will support IDEA’s work with its members and contribute to Concern Worldwide’s Global Citizenship programme by providing practical guidance that organisations can use to improve partnership approaches.
This is a practice-focused consultancy that aims to transform research findings into useful tools, recommendations, and resources for the development sector.
Key Responsibilities
The successful consultant will be expected to:
- Conduct a targeted review of relevant research, literature, and case studies
- Engage with stakeholders from Ireland and the Global South
- Identify examples of effective partnership models
- Analyse approaches that promote fairness and collaboration
- Produce a concise research report
- Develop practical recommendations and guidance materials
- Prepare presentation resources summarising findings
- Support a one-day IDEA learning workshop in December 2026
The consultant will work closely with IDEA and project partners throughout the assignment.

€6,000 (including VAT)
