Dawlaty Announces Call for Podcaster (Fully Remote Podcast Host): A Chance to Amplify Women’s Voices in Syria

Dawlaty, a leading civil society organization working toward democratic transition in Syria, has opened a new opportunity for a freelance Podcaster (Podcast Host) as part of its ongoing efforts to center marginalized voices and promote inclusive political participation.

This call, announced under Request for Quotation No. RFQ-25-610, seeks an experienced podcast host and producer who can help bring the stories, perspectives, and political experiences of Syrian women to a wider audience.

The application window is open until 15 December 2025.

About Dawlaty

Dawlaty works closely with civil society partners, youth, and marginalized groups to strengthen their role in shaping democratic processes. Through workshops, webinars, and community engagements, Dawlaty aims to create space for critical discussions and ensure the voices of beneficiaries—especially young women and men—are represented in public dialogue.

About the Podcast Project

This position falls under the WACS project, which focuses on raising awareness about effective and sustainable ways for women to participate in decision-making at community and national levels.

The podcast will feature Syrian women from diverse social and political backgrounds, sharing their personal experiences in civic engagement and political participation. It also aims to spark conversations among Syrian youth about what political participation truly means.

The selected service provider will be responsible for producing 10 full podcast episodes, including music features and all technical and creative production steps.

  • Location: Fully remote
  • Estimated Start Date: 10 January 2026
  • Estimated End Date: 10 March 2026

Scope of Work

The Podcaster/Podcast Host will take the lead on both editorial and technical aspects of the production. Responsibilities include:

Editorial & Content Creation

  • Writing episode outlines, scripts, and interview questions
  • Researching and identifying potential guests
  • Conducting outreach and scheduling interviews
  • Ensuring conversations align with the project’s goals and messaging

Recording & Production

  • Conducting high-quality audio recordings
  • Managing clear, professional sound with minimal noise
  • Editing audio: balancing sound levels, removing errors, adding transitions, music, and effects
  • Reviewing content with Dawlaty to refine clarity, tone, and narrative flow
  • Delivering final audio files in required formats and ensuring compliance with broadcasting standards

The service provider may subcontract technical tasks when necessary, with Dawlaty’s approval.

What Dawlaty Provides

Dawlaty commits to offering the support needed for successful delivery, including coordination with beneficiaries and timely processing of payments upon approval of deliverables.

Dawlaty also reserves the right to divide quotations, adjust quantities, or contract more than one provider if needed. A late penalty of 1% per week will apply for delayed submissions.

Qualification Requirements

Main Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of podcasting and guest-interviewing experience
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Creative mindset with excellent scriptwriting skills
  • Ability to generate original ideas and adapt to challenges
  • Technical knowledge in audio editing software, microphones, and recording equipment
  • Strong understanding of Syrian contexts
  • Essential knowledge of gender issues, human rights, civic engagement, and democracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Arabic and English

Selection Process

Dawlaty will evaluate applications in several stages:

  1. Review of non-price criteria for completeness and acceptability
  2. Technical evaluation of proposals meeting all mandatory requirements
  3. Financial evaluation for technically acceptable offers
  4. Interviews with the three lowest-priced qualified candidates
  5. Final selection, subject to committee approval
