Coordinator, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) – Remote Nonprofit Opportunity at Episcopal Relief & Development | $34–$36/Hour | Apply by September 14, 2026

Are you an organized professional with experience in project coordination, administration, operations, or monitoring and evaluation? A new remote opportunity with Episcopal Relief & Development could be an excellent option for professionals interested in international development and nonprofit work.
The organization is currently seeking a Coordinator, Monitoring, Evaluation, & Learning (MEL) to support the operations of its Strategic Learning & Impact (SLI) unit. The position is full-time, remote within the United States, and offers compensation of $34–$36 per hour. The application deadline is September 14, 2026.
About the Role
The MEL Coordinator will help coordinate the effective implementation of selected complex monitoring, evaluation, and learning projects. The role involves working with cross-functional teams, consultants, and implementing program partners while supporting multiple projects with interconnected timelines.
Responsibilities include coordinating logistics, maintaining documentation, tracking progress, communicating with stakeholders, ensuring adherence to procedures and quality standards, and contributing to operational and process improvements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Director while supporting the organization’s strategic goals and core values.
This makes the position particularly suitable for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex projects and working with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
A major part of the role involves operations administration. The Coordinator will organize recurring SLI processes, maintain Asana projects and templates, track annual plans, and manage MEL resources and documentation.
The position also involves setting up projects, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and documentation, monitoring progress, tracking budgets, and preparing status reports and communications using tools such as PowerPoint and Canva.
Another important responsibility is consultant and vendor administration. The Coordinator will support procurement processes, including competitive bidding and contracting, coordinate inputs from different teams, track consultant deliverables and invoices, and help ensure payments are processed on time.
Supporting Data Collection and Evaluation
The role also includes responsibility for partner tablets used for data collection. The Coordinator will help prepare procurement plans and budgets, coordinate tablet setup with partners, program teams, and IT staff, ensure data-security compliance, maintain records, and coordinate troubleshooting when required.
For project evaluation, the Coordinator will maintain multi-year evaluation and research plans and timelines. They will coordinate evaluation workflows involving partners and consultants and support the dissemination of evaluation findings and knowledge products.
The position also includes tracking technical-assistance requests, monitoring project timelines and dependencies, identifying risks, following up on action items, and preparing regular updates for teams. In addition, the Coordinator may organize virtual and in-person MEL training events, including logistics, participant communications, resources, translation, and interpretation services.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants are expected to have a Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
The position requires a minimum of two years of project coordination experience in an administrative, operations, or project-support role. Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation is considered an advantage. Experience working with international nonprofit or governmental organizations, or experience in international and cross-cultural environments, is also sought.
Candidates should be highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Experience working remotely and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across cultures are also important.
Skills That Can Help You Stand Out
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, along with experience using Asana or another project-management platform.
The employer is looking for someone with strong planning, scheduling, organizational, time-management, and project-management abilities. Attention to detail, adaptability, initiative, and the ability to work independently are also emphasized.
Because the role involves working with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, communication, and relationship-building abilities are important. English fluency is required, while French, Spanish, or Portuguese proficiency is desirable.
Remote Work and Application Deadline
The position is listed as remote, with work able to be performed from anywhere in the United States. However, applicants must be willing to work Eastern Time business hours and, when necessary, coordinate with program partners in other countries. Occasional travel in the United States and potentially to diverse and under-resourced international environments may also be required.
Applications must be submitted through the organization’s designated application website. The deadline is September 14, 2026.
For professionals seeking to build a career in monitoring, evaluation, learning, project coordination, and international nonprofit work, this opportunity offers the chance to contribute to meaningful programs while developing valuable project-management and MEL experience.
