CBM Ireland Seeks Consultant to Design and Facilitate Transformational Learning for Climate Justice and Inclusion- Deadline 31 Aug 2026

CBM Ireland is inviting applications from experienced consultants to design and facilitate a “Training for Transformation” course under its Funding Fairer Futures Project (2024–2028). This consultancy offers an opportunity to help civil society organisations, climate justice advocates, and international partners build transformative leadership skills while advancing inclusion, gender equality, localisation, and climate justice.

Running from September 2026 to May 2027, the consultancy combines programme design, participatory facilitation, and collaborative learning to strengthen the capacity of organisations working towards a fairer and more inclusive future.

About the Consultancy

The Training for Transformation course is part of the Funding Fairer Futures Project, which aims to create a more inclusive society where empowered citizens and civil society organisations take action on sustainable development, climate justice, and inclusivity.

Working closely with CBM Ireland and Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF), the successful consultant will co-design and deliver a learning programme that encourages participants to reflect on power dynamics, challenge discrimination, and strengthen equitable approaches to climate action and development.

The programme builds on previous learning sessions and creates a collaborative space where participants can exchange experiences, develop practical solutions, and strengthen partnerships across different regions and organisations.

Key Responsibilities

The selected consultant will lead the design and facilitation of the programme by:

• Designing a comprehensive Training for Transformation curriculum.
• Facilitating one three-hour in-person workshop in Brussels.
• Delivering six online training sessions.
• Leading three online reflection sessions.
• Facilitating participant learning during a final online networking and storytelling event.
• Collaborating with partners from the Global South and Eastern Europe to ensure diverse perspectives are integrated throughout the programme.
• Applying participatory, inclusive, and power-sensitive learning approaches.
• Documenting learning outcomes, participant feedback, challenges, and stories of change.

Training Topics

The programme will explore a range of issues central to inclusive climate action, including:

• Decolonisation and localisation in climate action.
• Colonial legacies in environmental governance.
• Shifting resources and locally led development.
• Building equitable North–South partnerships.
• Intersectional approaches to climate programming.
• Inclusive climate justice.
• Feminism, anti-racism, and anti-ableism.
• Power dynamics and transformational leadership.

Participants will be encouraged to apply these concepts within their own organisations and communities while strengthening collaboration across sectors.

Expected Deliverables

The consultant will produce a range of high-quality learning resources and reports, including:

• Detailed session plans for all workshops and online sessions.
• Participant handbooks and training materials.
• Storytelling templates and presentation guides.
• Summary reports for each learning session.
• Documentation of participant feedback and learning outcomes.
• A compilation of participant stories of change.
• Support for establishing an active learning community that continues beyond the programme.

Required Qualifications

CBM Ireland is looking for consultants with strong experience in participatory learning and organisational transformation.

Applicants should have:

• Proven experience designing and delivering transformational learning programmes.
• Expertise in participatory facilitation and inclusive learning methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of decolonisation, localisation, gender equality, feminism, anti-racism, and anti-ableism.
• Experience working with international civil society organisations or climate justice initiatives.
• Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Knowledge of additional languages such as French, Spanish, or sign language interpretation will be considered an advantage.

Consultancy Timeline

The consultancy will run over eight months, beginning in September 2026.

Programme activities include:

• September 2026: Programme design and stakeholder consultations.
• October 2026: In-person workshop in Brussels and online programme development.
• November 2026 – March 2027: Delivery of six online training sessions.
• December 2026 – April 2027: Reflection sessions, programme review, and final networking event.
