Internship Overview

Concordis International is seeking a Fundraising & Communications (F&C) Intern to support its global peacebuilding mission through strategic communications, donor engagement, and fundraising activities. This internship offers a hands-on learning opportunity for individuals interested in international development, peacebuilding, communications, and fundraising.

The intern will work closely with the Fundraising and Communications Manager and contribute to strengthening Concordis’ visibility, donor relationships, and external engagement. The role is public-facing, and the work produced will be real, relevant, and actively used by the organization.

Concordis internships are intentionally designed as a two-way learning experience. Interns are encouraged to contribute existing skills while also exploring new areas of work, learning new tools, and developing professional competencies. With structured support and increasing responsibility, interns gain practical experience that adds tangible value to their CVs and career development.

Role Information

  • Position: Fundraising & Communications Intern
  • Location: Remote (work from home)
  • Reporting Line: Fundraising and Communications Manager
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Working Time: 3 days per week (approximately 22 hours), with flexible working hours
  • Start Date: Early February 2026
  • Remuneration: Volunteer position
    • Concordis will reimburse reasonable expenses, including a small daily lunch allowance
  • Time Zones: Flexible; different time zones accommodated

Key Responsibilities

The Fundraising & Communications Intern will support Concordis’ income-generation and external engagement efforts in close collaboration with the UK-based team and Programme Managers. Responsibilities may include:

Communications Support

  • Gathering stories, updates, and insights from programme staff in different country contexts
  • Assisting in the creation of content for:
    • Website
    • Newsletters
    • Social media platforms
    • Reports and external publications
  • Supporting the design of visual content and layouts for both digital and print materials
  • Contributing to internal communications and team coordination

Fundraising and Donor Engagement

  • Supporting fundraising campaigns and donor communications
  • Assisting with proposal development and donor reporting
  • Updating and maintaining CRM systems and contact databases
  • Monitoring engagement metrics and supporting reporting on outreach and communications activities

Who Should Apply

  • A strong interest in peacebuilding, international development, or humanitarian work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a remote, international team
  • An interest in or prior exposure to fundraising, donor engagement, or communications

Additional assets include skills or interest in one or more of the following areas:

  • Content writing or journalism
  • Graphic design or visual communication
  • CRM systems and contact database management
  • Newsletters and email campaigns
  • Social media management
  • UX/UI design
  • Squarespace or comparable content management systems

Language Requirements:

  • High level of fluency in English (required)
  • French and/or Arabic are strong assets
