ASPbelong is seeking a Communication & Impact Partner to lead communications, media outreach, and partnership-building efforts for its innovative education and mental health initiative. About ASPbelong
ASPbelong is a collaborative project involving universities, game developers, artists, and young people. Funded by Horizon Europe and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the initiative explores how immersive digital experiences can improve mental health and foster stronger real-world social connections.
Its flagship experience, Lina, is an interactive classroom activity designed for students aged 11–14. Using tablets or smartphones without internet access, students work together to solve the mystery of a missing classmate through collaborative storytelling and evidence-based psychology. The project has already been successfully piloted in schools across multiple countries and is preparing for a wider public launch.
About the Communication & Impact Partner Role
This position goes beyond traditional social media management. The successful candidate will help shape ASPbelong’s overall communications strategy and expand awareness of both Lina and the broader Augmented Social Play (ASP) approach.
Working closely with the project’s non-academic lead, the Communication & Impact Partner will collaborate with an international consortium of researchers and partners across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Czechia, Portugal, and other European countries.
The role is primarily remote, with flexible working arrangements averaging two to three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
The selected freelancer will:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy.
- Build relationships with educators, journalists, influencers, and public figures.
- Increase public awareness of the Lina educational experience.
- Create or commission engaging digital and short-form content.
- Support media outreach and press engagement.
- Identify partnership opportunities with relevant organizations.
- Assist with event planning and communications activities.
- Help secure long-term visibility for the project and its future development.
