The Meliore Foundation (FUP) is seeking a Strategy and Communications Manager, Polling & Audience Insight to lead audience research, polling and insight-sharing across its international network. The fully remote position offers an opportunity for an experienced research and communications professional to influence campaign strategies and help progressive organisations better understand public opinion and audience behaviour.
The application deadline is 20 August 2026.
About the Meliore Foundation
The Meliore Foundation is an international philanthropic foundation supporting programmes focused on progressive communications and campaigning across areas including climate, energy, technology and gender.
Its vision is to create a world where science-based evidence on climate helps shape public debate. Through operational support and regranted funding, the Foundation works with programmes engaged in strategic communications and campaigns addressing global issues.
The organisation operates as a diverse international network, bringing together professionals working across different countries and time zones.
About the Role
The Strategy and Communications Manager, Polling & Audience Insight will work within the Foundation’s Audience Insight Hub (AIH), a five-person team that provides audience research to programmes across the organisation.
The new role will report to the Audience Insight Director and will focus on making the team’s research more proactive, strategic and influential.
Rather than only responding to requests for audience research, the successful candidate will identify opportunities for research that could benefit the wider progressive campaigning ecosystem, donors and other stakeholders.
The role combines polling, audience research, strategic communications and knowledge-sharing.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading a proactive programme of audience research, particularly polling.

- Developing ways to share audience research more widely across the progressive communications ecosystem.

- Promoting effective use of audience insights across the organisation.
- Sharing lessons and identifying trends in public opinion and audience behaviour.
- Building senior stakeholders’ understanding of research and audience insights.

The successful candidate should also have a strong track record of identifying opportunities for proactive research that can influence opinion-formers and communications professionals.
Communication Skills Are Important
A major part of the position involves communicating research findings to people who may not have specialist research backgrounds.
Applicants should therefore be able to explain complex research and public-opinion findings clearly and accessibly to non-specialist audiences.
Experience communicating research to people who speak English as a second language is considered an advantage.
Fluency in written and spoken English is required because English is Meliore’s working language.

The Foundation identifies several additional experiences that could strengthen an application.
These include:
- Experience conducting polling during election campaigns.

Some international travel will be required, and Meliore may be able to provide coworking spaces in certain locations.
Applicants must have the right to work in their location.
Contract and Benefits
The position is advertised as a full-time role, although requests for part-time arrangements, such as four days per week, will also be considered.
The initial contract is for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal after one year. Depending on the candidate’s location, the position may be offered through an employment or consultant contract.
Benefits may vary according to jurisdiction, but Meliore highlights several benefits, including:
- Six offline days each year with no calls or meetings.

- Opportunities to connect and collaborate with colleagues internationally.
The Foundation states that compensation is determined using local market data and a systematic compensation framework that considers the responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s skills and experience.
Who Should Apply?
This opportunity could be particularly relevant to professionals with experience in polling, audience intelligence, market research, political research, campaign strategy or strategic communications.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate not only that they can conduct research, but also that they can answer the more important strategic question:
What should organisations do with what the research tells them?
Experience turning public-opinion data into campaign recommendations, messaging strategies or audience engagement approaches could therefore be particularly valuable.
The position may also appeal to professionals interested in combining research with climate action, progressive campaigning, environmental advocacy and strategic communications.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit both a CV and a cover letter.
The cover letter should clearly explain how the candidate meets the requirements in the person specification.
